Check for free carriage motion by unplugging the printer while the carriage is in the print area of the plotter. Open the top cover and move the carriage to check for free movement. If there are rubber crumbs under the belt, the belt is worn out and needs to be replaced. Manual can be downloaded from: www.lpscomputer.com/ec/manuals.htm
Parts available at: http://www.lpscomputer.com/c-736-designjet-1050c-belt.aspx

Hp designjet 1050c check printhead path (1) but the carriage barely moves?

Either the belt pulley is broken, or installed incorrectly, or the belt was installed backwards.

The printer says unable to init. and to go troubleshooting and routine maintenance chapter

This is almost always due to foreign material (bits of paper, paperclip, push pin etc.) in the printhead path or under where the printhead parks.

Unplug the machine. Open the cover. Check the printhead path for foreign material. Note the position of the printhead.

If the printhead is at the far left, gently slide it towards the center. (Do not force it). Carefully inspect the area under where the printhead was positioned with a flashlight if necessary, looking for debris.

Close the cover. Plug in the machine and check.

Power outage caused printhead error on HP 1055 CM design jet

turn off the printer, remove your jetdirect card(nic) sounds like your local tech doesn't know his **** from a hole in the wall. this should resolve your loop problem, if not then your main pca have been popped by the power outage. good luck.

Printhead

When the plotter goes through its initialization, it stops, the printheads move to the right side and the window displays "switch power off, check printhead path (2)" I've turned the power of an wiped things down, I've unplugged and then restarted but continue to get this message. What do I need to look for or do to get it back on track?
