My compressor worked fine last ime i used it but now it acts like it has a bad power connection. it starts to kick on as i wiggle the plug and then kicks off again. i thought maybe it was the extention cord but even when i plug it straight into the wall it wont stay on. could it be as simple as replacing the plug?

First thing I would check is the power supply. Sounds like when the compressor tries to kick on the amp draw is so high it is causing the fan to act like its going off and in reality all the power is going to the heavy load which is the compressor. A long extension cord could be the culprit or a cord meant for a lighter duty. If you've got it connected with a 25 foot 12 gauge cord do some detective work and check your power connections from that plug all the way to the compressor relay looking for burnt or loose wires. You may also have burnt wires on the compressor terminals. Lastly you may have a compressor that's getting ready to fail and having trouble getting started until it gets good and hot and the tired bearings get some hot oil in them and it finally starts one more time. Hope this helps and good luck.
Hi! That is probably the compressor relay The relay is on the compressor and needs replaced A relay starts the compressor with a higher voltage and then quickly kicks out Thats what is happening with yours Its best for a tech to replace The relay but you can do it Take your model number to your Local Appliance parts store they will have a diagram showing you how to install the relay. Its called a hard start relay

HAVE YOU TRY A 3-N-1 COMPRESSOR BOOSTER|? YOUR LOCAL APPLIANCE PARTS STORE SHOULD HAVE THEM. TELL THEM THE SIZE OF YOUR FRIDGE AND COMPRESSOR AND THEY SHOULD BE ABLE GIVE YOU THE RIGHT ONE. FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE 3-N-1 AND CONNECT TO THE COMPRESSORS. BUT CONNECT THE TWO BLACK WIRES TO A EXTERNAL POWER(GET AN EXTENSION CORD AND CUT IT, WIRE NUT THE TWO WIRES TOGETHER). PLUG IT IN, IF THE COMPRESSOR KICKS OFF, YOU HAVE A BAD COMPRESSOR. IF IT RUNS WITHOUT KICKING OFF, THAT MEANS YOU ARE NOT GETTING POWER TO THE OVERLOAD RELAY TO TURN KICK ON COMPRESSOR. CHECK YOUR TEMP CONTROL INSIDE FRIDGE, AND THE DEFROST TIMER(MIGHT BE STUCK IN DEFROST)
Sounds like the compressor, starting capacitor has failed, you will need a repairman to check it out, i'm not sure if your models capacitor can be replaced seperately or if you need the whole compressor replaced. Good luck !
it may be the compressor, check the temperature of the compressor when it has been running for a while. if it is too hot to touch then it is going bad. the compressor should only get warm not hot.
the start switch will also kick out if the compressor is drawing too much amps (even if cold) witch would also be a sign of a bad compressor.
another thing that could cause this problem is if the coils under the machine are dirty or the airflow is blocked. this will cause the heat to build up in the compressor and kick the start switch off.
I think you're goin to have to replace your" dc-jack" as it's called. This is where your AC cord plugs into your laptop.DC-jack problems are very common in laptops.Over time they wiggle loose just enough to mess up the solder connection on the motherboard.Try gently wiggling your AC cord where it plugs into your computer ,if you screen returns to normal when you wiggle the plug a certain way, then you've most likely got a bad dc-jack.
