Question about HP DesignJet 1050c InkJet Printer

1 Answer

HP designjet 1055cm/plus paper reload

When the 1055 runs out of paper from the roll it does not recognize a new roll of paper. It seems to try to sheet feed. We unplug the machine for two minutes, not just turn off, load the new roll and it "tricks" the machine into using the new roll. This is problematic because we loose everything in the print buffer and at times that can be quite a few drawings

I have contacted HP and there suggestion is to buy a new unit.

When running prints from Roll 1 - the roll will slip to the right and cause a reload of paper roll.

I just purchased a new computer that has windows 7 and 64 bit and my hp designjet 1055cm plus inkjet printer driver is no longer compatible, Do you know of a driver that will work?

It appears that HP has linked the wrong file to the driver download on the website. I would contact HP and get the correct link so that you can download the driver.

What is system error 0B0006 on Hp design Jet plotter? I have replaced the power cable but no luck

The Trailing Cable has been incorrectly connected OR the fuse in the Electronics Module has been burned.

Corrective Action: Turn the Printer OFF and disconnect the trailing cable. Check that the ends of the Trailing Cable are flat and are not damaged or bent. Reconnect the Trailing Cable correctly, making sure it is pushed in firmly. Do the resistance test. Power ON the Printer and check if the Error Code disappears. If the Error Code continues, replace the Main Logic Board

Note: The logic board is a direct replacement for the Designjet 1050C Plus and 1055CM Plus. If the plotter you are repairing is the Designjet 1050C (not Plus) you will also need to replace the memory and the firmware.

If you are repairing a Designjet 1055CM (not Plus) you will have to replace the Hard Disk Drive also. The firmware is identical for the 1050C Plus and 1055CM Plus

Note: The aerosol fan is not used in the Designjet 1050C Plus or 1055CM Plus. Coil the cable out of the way or completely remove the fan.

WARNING TAKE CARE WHEN CONNECTING THE TRAILING CABLE TO THE ELECTRONICS MODULE OR CARRIAGE. INCORRECT INSTALLATION WILL BURN THE FUSE IN THE ELECTRONICS MODULE, CAUSING THE COMPLETE FAILURE AND REPLACEMENT OF THE LOGIC BOARD. 100 OHMS OR HIGHER MUST BE SEEN AT THE TEST POINTS. CONSULT THE SERVICE MANUAL FOR CORRECT PROCEDURE.

Continuable and Non-Continuable Error Codes

Some of the Error Codes are continuable, which means you can press Enter on the front-panel and continue working with the Printer. Non-Continuable Error Codes do not allow you to continue working with the Printer, in this case power the Printer OFF and ON again and see if the System Error disappears. If the Error Code reappears, then the Printer requires service in order to resolve the problem.

System error codes are hexa-decimal based numbers generally caused by internal system errors. Only try one recommended action at a time and check if the error code has disappeared.

HP DesignJet 1055cm Plus system error: 04C300 001F0000.

Its either the EIO card, make sure its seated properly, or the hard disk drive has failed in your plotter. Try running the plotter with out the hard disk drive, it is static sensitive, so make sure your grounded before removing it.

Check printhead path

Check for free carriage motion by unplugging the printer while the carriage is in the print area of the plotter. Open the top cover and move the carriage to check for free movement. If there are rubber crumbs under the belt, the belt is worn out and needs to be replaced. Manual can be downloaded from: www.lpscomputer.com/ec/manuals.htm
