Might sound simple, but... Reboot again. If problem persists:

Make sure speakers are connected to both power and the sound card on the (back of) computer.

Make sure speakers are turned on and volume is turned up.

Make sure sound volume (next to clock) is turned up.

Still does not work, download all Windows Updates and restart your computer.

How do I test the sound card when the control Panel Sounds states no audio devices?

Try booting with a Linux disk and see if sound works. If so you most likely have a driver issue.

MY daughters PHILIPS X57 WILL NOT BOOT UP. IT SWITCHES ON, THE FAN WORKS FOR ABOUT 2 SECONDS, THE HARD DISK LIGHT AND WIFI LIGHT LIGHT-UP FOR A SPLIT SECOND THEN NOTHING. NO DISPLAY, AND DOESN'T BOOT UP. ...

Its sounds like you have a faulty battery, take the battery out and take it to your local pc store and ask them if they will test it for you, if they find it is faulty you will have to buy a new one. Check that the power cable is working as well it might be that its not charging the battery so it might be worth taking that to the shop too for them to test. hope this helps and post back to let me how it goes.cheers.

My New sound card did work, but i had to Format my comp.

CAREFULLY remove your sound card and then try to boot up.

if it does not boot up then your computer has a problem and you need to consult your MFG.

if it does boot up then check the specks on the sound card and check if it is compatable.

if it is compatable, make shure that the contacts are clean (use a compressed air cleaner), and that the sound card is not damaged, then reconect (with the computer off).

In the way of only one speaker working, you probably have a loose connection; bad cable; or a bad speaker.

No audio from nothing cd, flash player etc.

Have you checked your audio settings to see if it was muted by accident?

Also, did it work before, and suddenly stopped? Have you changed anything on the computer?
Did you check to see if the speakers are still connected? (the green out port on the computer) or that the power connection to the speakers is connected and on.
Do you get any sound from the speakers on boot?

Weird noise from Acer Aspire 3000

When you open the sound control panel, is the mic muted or turned down? The feedback may have been coming from the built-in microphone?
