Question about Gateway FPD1960 19" Flat Panel LCD Monitor
I have a Gateway 900G that works for one second before the screen goes black. The blue power light stays on steadily. When I turn it off and turn it back on again it does the same thing so I know it works (as it shows me the screen). The monitor just doesn't stay on. I don't know much about LCD monitors but can I fix something? HELP! THANKS!!
The_princes, On the rear side of LCD screen that you look at are two each long, straight, cold-cathode-fluorescent-tubes that need to "LIGHT-UP"and provide pure WHITE light to be reflected through the LCD glass panel that you look at from the front side! If you don't have any luck with Gateway providing warranty service or doing a swapout with them, then you should possibly look into having it Refurbished by someone locally in your area. I highly recommend that you go to youtube and watch some video clips of LCD MONITOR REPAIR to see exactly what you are getting involved with. When making a post to tthis site you should always give some "history" along with the trouble "symptom" such as how old is unit and approximate total amount of "ON" time the unit has. I hope you can use the info provided. I'm louie12fix on fixya or email@example.com Bye for now.
