Question about Panasonic PT-47WX53 47" Rear Projection HDTV
When I turn the power on, it starts to come on and you hear the sound, then the power shuts off and the red power button starts to blink. I also detect a slight burnt smell.
Ladywinn: I'd don't believe your solution is correct. Which school you study electronics? Please see my solution below.
1. If the set keep shutting down whenever it's power up, the first place I would begin to look for is in the Deflection area. Check the horizontal output transistor, check in the vertical stage. check all yoke, as well as the fly back.If all the component mention above check good.
The Convergence IC's could be bad. Most Panasonic Projection screen always have shuting down issues.
And 75% of the problem cause from the Convengence ICs,

Panasonic is well known for two capacitors 1200pf 2k volts, also it has been known to short out the mosfet transistor, it sounds like you only need to replace the caps.
