Every time the projector is turned you have to adjust the keystone. When it come on the image is in an extreme keystone effect. I pulled the power so it goes back to the factory settings but that doesn't help.

I have problem with christie projector roadster x9

If your's is the "s" model there is no keystone adjustment provided. Otherwise the keystone adjustment is found under MENU then 1, Size and Position and under MENU 2, Image Settings. Also, refer to this excerpt from the manual:
NOTE: This function is not available in "S" models.
Adjust the keystone control if images appears non-rectangular or keystoned in shape-that is, smaller at either the top or bottom edge. The effect of keystone adjustment is similar to
physically tilting the projector forward or backward in relation to the screen, and it affects all sources.
NOTES: 1) Keystone is enabled for a source only if Size is 1000 and Size x Vertical Stretch is 1,000,000.
2) Keystone adjustment is not available in "S"
models. 3) Avoid using Keystone with Blanking.

tip

Overhead Projector Tip- best results!!

For best results, slant the screen forward slightly so it meets at a 90 degree angle with the projected image light beam. In not, then a keystone effect results where the projected image is taller on top or on the sides; in other words, the projected image is a parallelogram, not a square.

Keystone not working

Manual: http://www.mitsubishi-presentations.com/wp-content/files_mf/mitsubishi_manual_xd250ust.pdf

Installation>Wall Screen>Keystone

The automatic keystone adjustment may not be carried out correctly

because of the ambient temperature and the installation

conditions of the projector and the screen. In such cases, correct

the keystone manually.

• When the projector is projecting images where acceleration is

present, such as in a vehicle and aircraft, the automatic keystone

adjustment may not function correctly. In such a case, set AUTO

KEYSTONE in the INSTALLATION menu to OFF and correct the

keystone manually.

• You can correct the vertical keystones. However, their adjustment
ranges are limited in such correction.

When the keystone adjustment is carried out, the adjustment

value is indicated. Note that this value doesn't mean a projection

angle.

• The allowable range of the adjustment value in the keystone

adjustment varies depending on the installation conditions.

• When the keystone adjustment takes effect, the resolution

decreases. In addition, stripes may appear or straight lines may

bend in images with complicated patterns. They are not due to

product malfunctions.

• Noise may appear on the screen during the keystone adjustment

because of the type of the video signal being projected and the

setting values of the keystone adjustment. In such cases, set the

keystone adjustment values in the range where the image is displayed

without noise.

• When the keystone adjustment is carried out, the image may not
be displayed correctly because of the type of input signal.

The whole projection is not square when projected onto the screen. How do we square it up?

if it looks like a trapezoid, you need to keystone it. you can either use the keystone buttons on the top panel or go into the menu under the image adjustments and select the keystone feature.

Mounting the Projector from the Ceiling

Projectors, in general want to project the bottom of the image 1 foot above the lens at a typical range. When mounted upside down, they project the top of the image 1 foot below the center of the lens. If you don't want to turn the projector over, you'll have to change the angle and probably go to the extreme on the keystone correction.

How do I make my projector image "square"?

i Believe you need to go into the projectors settings and adjust what is called the keystone, this changes the tilt effect that the projector throws, just keep messing with that setting until you get it how you like it.
