Hi, hoover dishwasher hed6612-80 when the door is opened the base area is covered in water by the filter 2cm deep. all filters are clean and the water just remains there. thanks

The problem is most likely that the drain is blocked. Remove the lower front panel on the dishwasher. You will see the drain hose connected to a small pump close to the floor. disconnect the hose and remove the pump. There will be some water so be prepared with some paper towels, or rags. Remove the small pump so you can visually inspect it on the inside, remove any debris you find. If there is no debris there go under the kitchen sink and disconnect the other end of the dishwasher hose. you can then remove the entire hose to inspect it for a blockage. If no blockage in the hose, you must then check the path of the drain water through the garbage disposal [if you have one] and then the trap.

Water temperature is not that hot any more dishes stay dirty after 3rd cycle


Water temperature is a key element in achieving clean dishes. A dishwasher's heating element is not designed to heat the water that enters it. Rather, the heating element is designed to maintain the heat of the water that enters the dishwasher. Its a good idea to run the hot water in your sink for a couple of minutes before you run the dishwasher. Just to make sure the water is nice and hot before it enters the dishwasher. If the water is unable to stay hot, it can adversely affect your dishwasher's cleaning ability.

Testing a heating element
Note: Disconnect the power source to your dishwasher before you conduct this or any other test. Either unplug the unit from the wall outlet, remove the appropriate fuse from the fuse box, or flip the appropriate breaker in the circuit breaker panel.


Locate your dishwasher's heating element. Open the dishwasher door and look into the tub. It is the thin, circular tube at the base of your dishwasher. It may or may not be covered. If it is covered, remove the lower dishrack, and then remove the cover.

Your heating element is going to have two metal terminals. One at each end. Each terminal reaches downwards, into the base of the dishwasher. Mentally mark the area where each terminal enters the base of the tub.

Now you need to gain access to the heating element's wiring. You can do this by first removing the lower kickplate panel of the dishwasher. There will be at least two screws (but maybe four) holding the kickplate panel in place. They are located either on the top or the bottom of the panel. If the screws are located on the top, you may need to open the dishwasher door in order to gain access to them. Close the door to remove the panel, though.

Now look into the lower access area that you have just uncovered. Pinpoint the area where the heating element terminals extend through the base of the dishwasher. They will each have a wire connected to it. Label each of the wires so that you will be able to properly reconnect them later. Now you can pull the wires off the terminals.

Each wire is connected to a terminal using a slip-on connector. Grasp the connector and pull on it firmly.
DO NOT pull on the wire itself. Pull only from the connector. You may decide you need to use a pair of needle nosed pliers to help you.

Use your multitester (aka multimeter) to test the heating element for continuity. Set the device to the ohms
setting x 1. Touch each meter probe to a terminal. You should receive a reading somewhere in between infinity and zero. Because of the variety of makes and models of dishwashers, it is quite difficult to say exactly what the reading should be for each and every possible model. However, if the test you conduct produces a reading of infinite resistance (meter's needle does not move), then that is indicative of a faulty heating element, and you should replace yours. Similarily, if the test you conduct produces a reading of zero resistance (meter's needle moves to the other extreme of the scale), then that is also indicative of a faulty heating element, and you should replace yours.

You do not have to remove the heating element from the dishwasher in order to test it. Just make sure power is not getting to your dishwasher before you conduct the test.

Hi, I have a miele g977 dishwasher. The inlet/drain light is flashing constantly. I have cleaned all parts and checked inlet filters etc and all is ok. I filled the dishwasher with water from a jug and...


There might be water in the base. take the cicker off and open the small access door ...2 screws.....if there is water in the base soak it up with some rags or a sponge and try it. if more water come in the base there is a leak somewhere. Then you will have to remove the base to investigate....good luck

Hoover HED 6612/1-80 dishwasher all four lights flash and beep whilst the machine drains, after a couple of minutes the beeping stops but the four lights glow. Cannot reset to cancel. Also still makes...


Not sure if you have got a user manual for this dishwasher. You can download one from this site.

You have a flood situation inside the dishwasher. See page 12 of the manual. There may be no water at the bottom of the machine but there is some overfill occuring. Also see error codes on page 13. This can be either because the flood detection circuit is faulty and giving false trigger or there is water in the base of the dishwasher housing due to leaking door gasket or hoses.

Some things to try. Turn mains power off and back on and see if there is any difference.
If not, then turn power off and pull dishwasher out from the kitchen benchtop. Put a few towels on the floor and tilt the dishwasher side to side on the base and see if any water comes out. Wait 5-6 minutes and turn power back on. See if it makes any difference.

My ASKO D3100 dishwasher has no hot water

Water not heating therfore dishes not washing or drying right.

Dishwasher running with door open


most dishwashers will stick on pump if there is water in he base of the dishwasher . If you tilt the washer back only about 45 degs and water runs out of the back at the bottom the you have a leak but it could come from any where. But when there is no water in the base then your washer should start to work again until it fills back up

Water Leak at vent area in door...


On this model the vent is open and shut by a wax motor. The vent should be closed tight during the entire wash cycle and the first 6 minutes of the drying cycle. Check the operation, make sure there is not a bunch of gunk restricting it. If you are handy with a meter check the resistance of the motor. It should read approx. 2100ohms. Another reason for leaking at the base is oversudzing. Also check the upper spray arm for cracks or splits shooting water into the vent area. Catriver...post back.
