Protron pdv 288 AC adaptor (need part from wall to converter) (USA)

Hello Javargas - Your unit will work fine with any generic 12V DC 3 AMP AC adapter. It's probably marked somewhere on the back of the unit (at least the 12V part).

If you have trouble finding one with 3 AMPs you can buy universal ones that will dial up automatically the voltage/amps the unit needs.

The generic kind can be had for about $20 (USD) while the second kind usually sells for around $35-40.

Happy movie watching.

Its a Toshiba RD-XV49DT DVD/DivX/VHS Player/Recorder Combo, replaced power supply board as was blowing fuses found components have shorten out and now after replaced board, video works and i think hard...

The controller circuit (usually a small board connected directly to DVD drive - it is either part of the drive or a sub-assembly which is attached - and contains several ICs and small capacitors and a lot of surface-mounted components on its copper side) is probably faulty, possibly due to the original bad PSU (which you have since replaced), chances are the original faulty PSU has damaged this circuit - usually DVD drives operate around 12V DC or so. The digital controller circuit/board not only has the EEPROM/CPU etc. on it, but also has a servo supply - for the DVD (the VCR servo supply is on the motherboard). This powers the disc tray and traverse unit. The controller is not serviceable at component level; it must be replaced and in some cases, the DVD drive must also be replaced where the board is not separate to the drive. This may not be economical.

It may just be a simple case of a blown digital controller circuit - but be warned, this board is not cheap - it is part of a 'module' (the disc drive and controller together = DVD module), and you may not be able to obtain the board without a new DVD drive. Up to you what you do from here, and you might be lucky in terms of the motherboard and HDD - no damage there.

What fuse does the Denon 3910ci player use? It says "2A" stamped on the circuit board but the engraving on the fuse in use looks more like .2A. Probably a dumb question since I have never see a .2A...

Your quite right it will be a 2 Amp fuse! However if it blows again it's not the fuse's rating fault, but some semi-conductor that has shorted out somewhere!

I need a new ac/dc adaptor for my pdv 709 ac100-240v 50/60hz 0.5a output dc 9v 2a efficiency level 1v factory id a

If you have the original adapter simply purchase a generic adapter with the same connection type, amp/current and voltage. Otherwise it will show on the products sticker, normally with the model and serial number, what input the ac/dc adapter uses. Im assuming from the information given you need to purchase a 9 volt adapter with an amp or current rating of 500mA or 0.5 amps. I hope this helps. Good luck.

Durabrand DUR-7 dvd player

the 12 volt car adapter only puts 9v to the dvd player. It is poorly marked. It really only runs on 9v. If you plug 12v into it it will smoke... thats what mine did.

Power supply for the 2nd screen ??

If you are not using the car power adapter that came with your PDV-768 for the 2nd screen, you are likely running into the possibility of "reversed polarity" with the power adapter you are attempting to use. This can & often will cause a problem with your unit.
