You have a blown power transistor, they come in pairs you need to replace both. You may have a safety relay that is cutting off the power amps because they are drawing to much current., that is why it appears to stay "on".

I have the same TECHNICS SU A900 MKII as you are talking about and it always runs warm I think using 4R speakers instead of 8R speakers should solve the problem and actually I am thinking of switching to 4R as well.

Technics SA-DV290 Amp. Sound cuts out as volume is increased

hello it sound like the output ic may be in trouble you may have just dry joint on the ic which just resolder it . or there could be a capacitor leaking or they may have swelled up in which you will have to replace. it's best to do some visual checks first i'e look for any burnt parts any capacitor with bulging tops

Technics su g70 amp problem also?

it doesn't sound like it. but maybe. it would be the input section of your amp that blew if it did go. try replacing your speaker wire first, if that doesn't work then your volume knob(if the volume is analogue) may need to be replaced. if that doesn't work. then you may have blown the amp. what source are you testing with?(cdplayer, dvd player, etc.) and what inputs are you using? (analogue, digital optical, digital coax)

Sound cuts when volume is turned up

check that power amplifier rating(how many watt)must be more than total speaker rating by 20% at least..
exampel:if speakers watts are 100 watt-amplifier watt must be 120 watt.

Technics SU-V460 Amp Problems

Hi There, you need to eliminate all the connection and surplus items around the SUV-460 amplifier to determine if its the amp or not..

That is disconnect every thing then connect just the speakers and an input to the amp like a CD player or radio input. Then see if the amplifier plays OK thru the speakers on both channels and the balance control works fine....If it doesnt then the fault is inside the SUV-460 but if it all works fine than start reconnecting theemixer panel carefully and recheck all your cables and connections. Its a process of elimination to determine if its a "Box" fault or a cable fault...

Cheers From YUBEUT
