Washer doesn't run all the way thru cycles. It's pauses 2 to 3 times during cycle and I have to press start button again. Also, noticed the washer is leaking water (sometimes soapy) when running washer (although it's not on every load being washed). I've checked and balanced washer numerous times. Also, washer is not draining all the way on some loads, the clothes are soaking wet and I have to run the drain cycle again, sometimes the rinse/drain cycle if soapy when I open door. Washer - GE 3.7 Cu. Ft. Washer Front Loader - Model # WBVH6240FWW - 2008.
Removed hose connecting to water pump at tub. Removed clog (ink pen, coins, etc). Replaced and ran washer. Ran through all cycles - no leaking, no pausing of cycles. Problem is resolved.

I have a GE frontloader washer that is approximately one year old. I know I overloaded the laundry the other day with too many jeans and I smelled smoke coming from the washroom. It wasn't a heavy smoke, just very light.
I immediately turned the washer off by pressing power and noticed smoke coming from the white vented pipe in the back top of the washer. I opened the washer and a puff of light smoke came from the tub smelling of burnt rubber and electrical.
We looked in the back, the belt is fine, took the motor off, it is fine, no sign of burnt or wear and tear. Anyone have any idea of what this could be? Maybe I can start it up and it will work and not overload it next time? I am worried of starting a fire.
Thanks!
