Maytag and most other manufacturer's, are making what's called "counter depth" fridges. These fridges typically only extend out from the wall only as far as a traditional countertop (24" to 26" +/-).

However, most of these fridges have a smaller Cubic Foot capacity inside them, so large familes would be advised to stick with traditional fridges, which have the largest capacities available.

With that being said, here's a link to Maytag's site that will let you pick out the style of fridge you want and select the counter depth model you prefer.

I hope you find the fridge that you want and that this little bit of information has been Very Helpful for you. Best regards!

This morning i awoke to the side by side maytag refrig.. and water was all over the kitchen coming from the fridge.. pulled the unit out and the compressor seems to be out.. i think.. the fan is just...

Hello
Black flakes? Could be the start capicitor on the compressor has blown. If this is the case the compressor is probably damaged as well.
On the compressor is a black cylinder with 2 wires going to it,this may be under a plastic cover.
Unplug refige and look to see if this black cyl is blown apart. This is the start capacitor which starts the compressor.
You can try to replace it yourself, but it sounds as if your going to need a service person to come out.

Ice keeps building up in bottom of freezer and on vent inside fridge and now fridge won't stay cold.

Clean the coil inside the rear access panel behind the unit with a spray air duster and check for this problem.

I just opened up the back of my Frigidaire Side by Side counter depth to find the drain hose was bent and collapsed coming right out of the bottom of the freezer and the pan was dry as a bone. It doesn't look like my drain hose has ever drained a drop of water. The freezer bottom is full of ice And the rust and chipping paint under the bottom of the freezer door along with the mysterious puddles of water every morning means the drain system definetely never worked. Frigidaire should be responsible for this. This, along with the ice maker rebuild I had to do,... after ice was spilling all through the fridge. I actually had warrantty left on that one and called customer support in India to find out I could make the repair myself. Yep I had to do it. Frigidaire you failed.

Freezer works fridge doesn't both worked yesterday today fridge wont

Hi, Check and see if the condenser fan motor down by the compressor is running. Sometimes when they get moved, something will get into the blade and stop fan.
That will overheat the compressor and cause it to shut off on safety. If that fan is running, check the fan inside freezer and look to see if frost is building up on inside rear freezer wall.
Please let me know if this helps you or if I can assist you further.

Frig not stayng cool. Freezer not freezing

most fridges have a evaporator dish or container.
it must be emptied ...and cleaned and disinfected.

now-a -days they are usually mated with the compressor and cool this unit down. notice there is no coil along the back of the fridge...it is usiually behind the fridge at the bottom with a cardboard or plastic access cover...
this will make the unit cool better and return the cooling to normal....
\next
clean out your freezer...i bet it's full of 4 month old packs of something you'll never eat....this will let the freezer breathe and circulate air to the coil ...i bet it has 3 in of ice on it...yikes...your not alone...most people do this...\
get a freezer if your getting ready for the apocalypse and liberate some room.
good luck

Freezer is almost always running....

If you look at the icemaker, you will see a metal wire which runs along the side of the unit. If you manually swing the wire arm up until it locks in place (about 90 degree swing from the normal straight down position) you will have turned the icemaker off. (Alternatively you can unplug the electrical plug from the icemaker which goes into the freezer wall.)
If the icemaker is not turned off, it will periodically cycle, which turns on the ice cube mode release heater during it's cycle, putting unnecessary heat into your freezer. You do not need to plug the ice maker supply line. This should be a Fix-Ya for your refrig.

Fitting an integrated fridge freezer!

Hi Gareth. I fitted a door to my Hotpoint hsz2321L today. I used self tapping screws through the brackets into the fridge door sides. Looking at the old fridge that came out showed that this was the method used previously. No seal is broken and so the fridge is working perfectly. I do have an issue re-fitting the door onto the new fridge though. The pivot hinge on my fridge doesnt give enough clearance and so it catches on the unit at the side of it. The old fridge (a Bosch) cad cabinet hinges that would sort of concertina out to give clearence. Anyway, good luck.
