SOURCE: i ghave lost the disk that came with my scanner .

Find the brand of it, and look up the device software on google or the the Brand name's website. It will have your device's software. Once you've installed the drivers and software, the software will guide you through scanning the photo onto your computer.

Put photos on facebook? Not from phones, or cameras with simscards, just old photos.

Scan them onto your computer, save them to your computer. Go to your facebook page, hit upload photo, go to browse button, go to where you stored your pics ie. photos or desktop, find the pic you want to upload then click on it, hit ok and it should upload for you.

Free software download lost

If you haven't done anything with the card since then, you may be able to recover at least some of the pictures. Do a Google search for "data recovery software" and select a program for your computer and operating system. Put the card back into the card reader, cross your fingers, and run the program.

Next time, don't scan and fix. Personally, I always slide the lock on the card to the write-protect position before putting it into my card reader. Not only does it prevent the "scan" dialog from popping up, it keeps the computer from putting the recycle bin and other garbage onto the card.

My X3400 will not accept a scan from my printer

Did you reinstall the printer on your PC? Did you install the correct version of the printer software? If your old computer and new computer has different versions of windows, then make sure you put the correct version on the new computer.

Also, you should be able to start the scan from the computer if you have the software loaded correctly and both are communicating. If you are doing it from the Printer, it might be trying to find a folder to put the scans that were on the old computer and not the new one.

Bought digital photo frame a700 as a present for 90year old. have photos of great grandchild on 2 different sd cards. can i put them on one card for the photo frame

Yes. Connect one of the sd cards to a computer and drag the photo onto your desktop. Now connect the second card and drag the photo onto the second sd card so that both photos are on the same card. If you have a mac, the sd cards will appear on your desktop. If you are using windows, I believe it shows up under your start menu and then my computer (though to be honest, I haven't used a computer with Windows in a while).

How to scan photo to save on computer ?

Instructions Things You'll Need:
  • Pictures to scan
  • Computer
  • Scanner
  1. Step 1 ** Prep your photos **

What we're going to do here is take all your photos and put them onto one 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper.

So take some tape and put it on the BACK of a photo. Then put that photo on the 8 1/2 x 11. You want to do it on the back so it won't ruin your original.

Then repeat this for the other photos you've got. And make sure you leave some space between the photos. This is so they don't get stuck together or overlap.

If you have lots and lots of photos that won't fit on one page, then use multiple pages to hold them. In other word, put as many as you can on a page.
  2. Step 2 ** Preparing to scan**

Now that you've got your photos on an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper, it's time to put it onto the scanner. And be careful when holding the paper so your photos don't all fall off.

Now carefully lay the paper with the photos facing DOWN on the glass of your scanner. And it doesn't matter if you're using a flatbed scanner or one of those combo printer/scanner/fax machines.

TIP #1: I suggest making sure your glass is clean and free of streaks beforehand. Otherwise, you may see lines or distortions when the photos are scanned.

TIP #2: Do NOT feed the paper through the sheet feeder if you have one. This may jam the feeder or damange your photos. So make sure you only lay the paper on the glass!
  3. Step 3 ** Ready to scan **

The only thing left to do now is actually scan your photos. Now depending on your scanner software, you may be able to scan a specific area.

In other words, many scanning software programs allow you to select the region or area of the paper you want to scan. If so, then I suggest you use this to crop your image around a specific picture. This will make the process easier.

When you've done this, scan it! Once it's on your computer, you can edit it to make it ligher, sharper, etc. Or save it as is. Then you'd repeat this process for the next picture.

If your software won't allow you to scan a specific area, then you'll need to scan the entire page. Do it! Once the image is on your computer, then you can use editing software to copy a specific portion to a new file. This is what you'll need to do to get individual photos.

As an alternative, you could crop the one you just scanned and then save it. Then rescan the whole page again and crop it to the next picture. Both ways work the same, so is your choice which way to go.
Hope it will help you :)

Try using the Dell all-in-one center instead of straight from the printer.
