when we copy paste some data into or out of SD card it is not necessary that all the data is written to the card at that instant, thats why we usually use safely remove hardware option which will complete all the operations and will check any other program is accessing this card. If you take the sd card out suddenly some times it may cause some errors to data. You can change the settings for the reader so that safely remove a card without SRH. Here's how:
    1. Right-click the icon for the card reader and choose Properties.
    2. Click the Hardware tab.
    3. Click the drive name (which may be something like Generic SD/MMC USB Device), and then click the Properties button.
    4. Click the Policies tab to reveal your two options: Optimize for quick removal and Optimize for performance. Choose the former, then click OK as needed to exit all the dialogs.
If the two options are grayed out, switch back to the General tab and click the Change settings button to gain administrative rights. hope it helps thanks

try to unmount your SD card from device storage settings from your phone and re mount it. Also make sure you are seating the SD card correctly, it could be that the SD card reader on the phone is damaged. However you can check this by inserting a different SD card and if that doesnt work. Its likely the SD card reader that has the problem.

Tip

SD Card Write Protect

Good day,

This tip will explain how to remove the write protect from your SD Card.

This is a easy fix and won't take a minute.

First remove your SD Card from your device. You will see on the side of the SD Card that there is a small switch. If your SD Card complains about being write protected simply put the switch in the opposite position. Some of the SD Cards even have the word LOCK on near the switch indicating the direction the switch must be to LOCK the card.

Once the switch is changed you can put the SD Card back into your device and the problem of write protection would be solved.

Please feel free to let me know if this tip was able to help you!

I have an vivitar vivicam s128 when I put my sd card in it says card protected what can I do

Sure you did not lock the card? The little notch should be in the up position as in the picture. Then the manual says you can use SD cards up to 32 Gbyte, but I can't find anything about the cameras compatibility with SDHC cards. So try the camera with a SD card. The used to make SD cards up to 4 Gbyte, but today, even 1 Gbyte cards are SDHC.
1- check Lock
2- Use SD card to see if your camera works with that.

See a 4GB card, only SD, but not for sale anymore.

Samsung galaxy y sd card is coming up on my screen damaged what can i do to put this right

I think your SD card is corrupted, because nowadays, most of SD card in the market are retrended or expanded from a old card, and android phone will store amount of data in the SD card, so it is easy to corrupted. If you want to fix your card, you can try to formate it in the phone, but it is at the price of data loss. However, if you would like to recover data from samsung galaxy sd card and save to the new one ,you can know more here: Samsung Galaxy SD card Data Recovery, and I suggest you buying a new SD card with good quality.

Blast slot with compressed air, especially if you use phone without the blank in thus mentioned slot for it has no cover. If this has no affect, than it is a hardware problem. Go to a Cingular store that has someone that knows the phone, I'd call ahead. Check the online manual, maybe.

high chance that your card is dead...take it to another card reader, like at a Wal-Mart kiosk to transfer pics for printing.
