Try going to the setup of your router by typing 192.168.1.1 in the address bar, going to wireless section and make sure it is enabled. also check what mode it is transmitting on ie mixed or B only or G only

Hi my router is showing internet connection and the wlan is green or the green light is on. in the numbers 1-4 there is no lights on. I don't know if this is the problem or not but i have no connection...

The lights 1-4 refer to the wired LAN ports, if none of these are on then there are no LAN cable connected to these ports.
Try rebooting (power off then power on) the router first then reboot your laptop to see if the wireless connection is re-established.
If not, check the router's wireless settings ie. SSID, encryption etc., and check the wireless card settings in the laptop - these settings must be the same for the laptop to connect to the router.

My linksys wrt160n wireless router light is blinking

Welcome to FixYa
Indication of Router Lights:
  • Power light blinks. If LAN or WAN cable is plugged in, their respective lights will flash on activity.
  • Power light turns off for several seconds.
  • All lights, except power light, turn on and then off.
  • Power light blinks slowly, then faster, and WLAN light will turn on.
  • Once Power light and WLAN light are on solid, the router is fully rebooted.

A working router should show solid green power light. upgrade the firmware of the router.

Connecting Laptop wireless and Desktop wired to the router

Do you need to see the desktop or just share folders from each other? If the latter then you need to do the following:

Use Windows Explorer and select a folder you want to share. Right click and select sharing and security.

On the sharing tab click on Share this folder. Enter a share name ( I like to enter the PC name _folder name; Rick1_Downloads)

Click on Permissions. If your ok with everyone using the PC's and Laptops having access then highlight Everyone and click on Full Control.

Do this on each PC and Laptop.

That should be it or darned near close.

Linksys wireless G broadband router

Hi
No problem if dmz is off ( only if you put one of your computer outside router firewall it will turn on though tghis is not recomended )
Wlan will be on only if you are connecting wirelessly .
Yes if power is not on spells trouble .
Go to your router support site update latest firmware it will end the problem .

WLAN does not work

Can you try and reset the router once. I guess that should help . There should be a reset button behind the router and the reset procedure should be present in the manual
