Have you run print head alignment? or To clean the cartridge carrier contacts on the printer, do the following: 1. Power off the printer and remove it from the mains supply. 2. Open the printer lid so that you have access to the cartridges. 3. Pull gently on the ribbon cable connected to the carrier until the carrier is accessible. 4. Remove the cartridges. 5. Using a dry, clean cloth, wipe the contacts of the carrier gently from top to bottom. 6. Repeat Step 5 on the second carrier slot (where applicable). 7. Reinsert the cartridges and close the lid. 8. Reconnect the printer to the mains supply and turn on the printer again. Let me know what happens. Good Luck, Tim

Hi, Sounds very much like the feed rollers are worn out. If you can get to them without too much trouble you can clean them up with regular rubbing alcohol and a rag which will help the paper feed. You might also want to try unpluging the printer and trying to roll the paper feed buttons by hand and seeing if a piece of paper will feed through without catching anywhere. If it does catch somewhere, then you may very well have a small piece of paper jammed in the paper path causing the jam. Good luck.

on left side of tray are 3 fingers, for letter size paper bottom 2 are out, next one in. verify slider on bottom of tray is in place. Essentially paper not sensed correctly. print config page and see paper size

Typically what I have seen with these printers if they do that it is
because there is something blocking the path of the paper. What you can
do if you are comfortable!!
Unplug the printer and lift the printer and and give it a good shake and what ever is blocking the paper will fall out if not it may loosen it enough so that when put the printer down and take a flash light and shine it down the paper feed area you will be able to see what is there and then pull it out with either a pair of needle noose pliers or your hands.
Also if you have a warranty on the printer you can just call Lexmark and they will either walk you through the same process or they will send you a new printer.
