The `Main' option screen which shows the choices of viewing options, TV PC HDM etc., runs around every so often despite having the TV ticked. How is it stopped? Thanks

Try a hard reset to this set, and check. There are two types of reset to TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Service mode entry, adjust and exit procedure to many popular brand TVs are given. Never forget to exit the service mode, after all adjustments have been done.

What is the master or universal parental unlock passwordcode

Disconnect the AC power for at least one minute to reset the clock.
Adjust the volume to the minimum using the Volume down button on the front of the unit.
Press and hold the Volume down button on the front of the unit and the 0 button on the remote control at the same time, holding them down for at least 10 seconds.
The user menu will appear with the V-Chip cursor blinking.
Press the ENTER key on the remote control and the NEW PASSWORD menu will appear. Enter your new password.

Toshiba 32av615db tv - keeps scrolling channels

On the back of the TV, where the main board is (the one with many AV inputs to it) there are several cables going into it.

Find the one that leads to the buttons on the TV - it won't be too hard to trace - and after turning on the TV disconnect that cable.

Or, if the cables for the buttons and the front LED and IR sensor are separate (sometimes they are) you disconnect the one for the buttons and then turn the TV on with the remote.

Either way, see if the problem persists with the buttons panel disconnected.

if it does then the problem is in the main board and likely you'll want it replaced. The way they make them these days it's really cheaper to replace the whole thing than to look for a problem among components the largest of which is about a millimeter long.

if the problem is in the button/cable connector...you'll probably find it easy. Often it's because that same cable has been trapped between the front and back covers and broken or shorted by the friction and pressure.

Hope this helps....would appreciate a review on Google if it does!

I have the same problem - please help as no Cebbies!

Just got through to Samsung support. Turns out the freeview card had frozen and needed a reset. To do this put tv on standby. then press in serries these buttons on the remote: 'info' 'menu' 'mute' 'power' TV will then turn on with a default screen. Press 'arrow down' button untill you reach option 12 'reset' . then push the 'right arrow' and tv will reset and start in plug and play mode and commence a scan when you've set the time. Just retuned mine and its back to normal. Hoorah!!! :-)

Retune for channel 5

You may lose some channels when you retune the TV as the channels have been rearranged. To locate them look at the EPG although you may still find that some channels are no longer available on FREEVIEW. See the following link for additional information

http://www.freeview.co.uk/_retuneinfo/

If the above process does not work then check the link above for additional information and also visit the accompanying site links below to find more information for your model of TV / FREEVIEW box.
