Yes, if you purchase a new keyboard this will fix the problem. I just repaired my friends laptop that had milk spilled on it and now it works fine.
I hope this helps you with this issue.

Just buy a new keyboard, should take care of the problem. You can buy a new key board on ebay for $10-13$. If you have any questions regarding keyboard installation, let me know. I can help.

A keyboard is a series of small switches for each key. The fluids are enough to short out between the switch contacts just like depressing the key. You probably have fluid still inside the keyboard and it's making keys stick and it's also making contact between the key contacts. A new keyboard will solve the problem or if you can take the old one out and clean and dry it completely might save it.

If you purchased it new, you should be able to get the keyboard replaced under warranty. Dell's come with a minimum 1-year warranty. Give them a call and tell them the issue with the spacebar.

My Friend bought a Dell insparian 1545 laptop and one day a cup of tea feel down on touch pad integrated mouse. Touchpad mouse stopped working after that. She had bought the laptop on 10th December, 2009....

She will have to take it to a repair shop and have the touchpad replaced. This is going to cost her about $200, since the warranty has expired a few days ago. Unless of course she had got extra warranty, in that case it will be free.

You will need to open it up and make sure all the liquid is cleaned out. There are several layers of plastic sheet with contacts printed on them, you will have shorted them out.
You would be better off buying a new keyboard, i have tryed to fix this problem myself, there are always a couple of keys that never work again

Water was spilled on the keyboard. Dryed out laptop but keyboard shorted out. Everything works fine but some keyboard characters don't type out. Can keyboard be replaced on this laptop?

You definitely need to replace the keyboard on the system. If your system still within warranty and you have Complete Care warranty from Dell this will be covered, if not you may need to pay for it or purchase a keyboard part.

Ice tea spilt in digital camera

Once a camera has liquid damage to it, rice isn't going to help. The contacts and everything are ruined unfortunately. Not saying you can't try rice, go ahead, but it probably won't work. Good luck.

I have no idea, but I also have a Dell inspiron fifteen-fourty-five, and sometimes the left side of my keyboard wont work. It affects the one key, q, a, z, and tab. Pretty annoying since I got it 2 months ago and its been happening since late last month. Anyone else have this problem?

Dell Inspiron 1545 space bar, ''n'' and ''b'' keys suddnly don't work

There isn't any "Known Issues" that I am aware of with that model. Try re-seating the keyboard cable, see if there is any difference:

If no difference, contact Dell if under warranty. If not new keyboards are about $20 on EBay

Keyboard gone crazy

You can try resating the leyboard once. If the issue is not resolved , then its better to replace the keyboard , otherwise it may lead to motherboard damage.
