Question about Toshiba Satellite A105 Notebook

Toshiba Satelite A105S2617 Power Problem

I had a problem back in march where horizontal black and white lines would appear while i was working on my laptop and gradually got worse until the whole screen would go black. Then eventually I couldn't turn it on ( the fans would run for a second and then everything would turn off, screen completely black). Toshiba was a royal pain and I ended up sending it in to be diagnosed and repaired (a pricey ordeal). They replaced the motherboard and told me that it was only guaranteed to work for something like 6 months( is this true?!?). Earlier today, I was working on my laptop and the screen turned to a somewhat static-y black and white problem (unlike the horizontal lines to gradual complete black that i had before). After this pattern, I shut the laptop off. Now, when I try to restart the computer, the fans will start up for about a second and then stop and it will not turn on. None of the lights are on unless the Power is plugged in. Is this another motherboard problem? If so, is there anything at all I can do to prevent this from occurring twice a year? (The laptop is less than 2 years old) Is it worth the money to keep replacing the motherboard or am i better off buying a new laptop? If the latter, are there any that you would recommend so I can avoid the massive headache that I've had with this laptop?

Thank you SO MUCH for your time and support,

Katie

Horizontal white lines 27A43.

You have some bad capacitors. They are located very near and next to your vertical IC. I would guess you would have to replace maybe four of these! Thanks for asking!

White areas in the image are yellow and the black are blue-green

you have a few issues. first is the yellow in white. the light filter on the blue lcd panel is fried due to excessive dust and heat. unfortunately, you may have to replace the whole optical engine. as for the flashing horizontal lines, the power supply isn't cooling down and the caps are drying out, causing fluctuations in voltage. so, replace the power supply.

No picture no sound

Did you mean the picture is collapsed only in the middle horizontally(white line appears on the middle part of the screen)?
If that is the case, maybe vertical IC failed or loose connection.

Toshiba colorstream 27A33 TV

1.Are these lines only in the upper 1/3 rd portion of the screen? And is there a clear demarcation between this area and the lower portionb, where the image is perfect? 2.Or is thin Horizontal lines evenly spaced around an centimetre apart? If it is the first case, then there si a problem with your TVs SMPS. It is not generating the required regulated 110V required for the TVs functioning. If it is case 2, then there is a simple adjustment at the back - 'SCREEN'. This adjusts the Screen Grid Voltage, and by slightly lowering it, this problem will go away.
