If you type cmd at the run command and type "Ipconfig" and press enter, it will show your gateway number. After typing that into your web browser it will bring up your router home page. Alot ot times to change your passwords is located on the adminstrator tab.

In your address bar, type 192.168.1.1 then type username and password, defaulty is admin for both. then in main settings for security, you can set a username and password for accessing the router, and you can also change security to wep or wpa and write down the code key they give you. You can also copy and paste code key in your notebook

I have my android cell phone an I want to connect to interent,, but it keeps asking for the password of modem... I put in whats on the side of the box... I need modem password.. how do I get that? help

If it's a CradlePoint router or modem/router, the owner may have enabled access control under

Tools -> User Login -> User Login Settings -> Require User Login, and
Tools -> User Login -> Internet Access Password.

Which causes a java popup to appear prompting for a password (which is not necessarily the same as the modem/router's administration password; typically it's NOT the same).

I imagine other routers could have similar settings... a good reason to include details such as the brand and model of the modem/router.

How do i connect my wireless internet

Connect your wireless modem into the telephone or ADSL capable line from your phone company or internet service provider (ISP.) Remember to place an line filter between any hard-wired phone and also the modem. (The modem will have at least one in the box, use it for the modem.) Open the modem box and read all the instructions carefully. Connect your PC with a CAT5 (RJ45) cable in the modem box to the modem... yes, you need to use a cable to set it up. This is bit wider than the normal telephone jack and there is a place for it on your PC called an "Ethernet" plug. The modem should have a CD ROM that will help you set it up. Before you begin, make up a unique, easy-to-remember name for your network, also think of a password that you want to use to secure your wireless connection. Call your ISP and tell them what the brand and model of your wireless modem is and they will talk you through the set-up at no cost. The key thing to have handy is the "Default gateway URL" This is sequence of numbers and periods between them that is absolutely essential to set up your wireless modem. If you don't have it, don't worry... there is a command prompt (CMD) that your ISP will instruct you to use to retrieve it after you have installed the modem's driver and are ready to set it up. Normally, the first 2 to 4 passwords required are to get access to set up the modem... using "admin" is just fine. (Passwords are most always asked in duplicate to reconfirm the password.) The important password is the one that allows access to your home or business wireless network. Remember to write down your username, unique password, and the network name for your network and the Default gateway URL so you can easily diagnose connection problems later. I keep this stuff in the modem box with the cable, instructions, and CD. Good Luck

Lost the security key to my motorola wireless modem

Here's a link to common usernames and passwords for motorola modems: http://www.pcwintech.com/default-router-modem-passwords2

When you find the username and password for your model of router you can access the modem's settings by typing "192.168.1.1" into the address bar of your internet browser. Once you access the settings you can find the password under the "wireless" option and even change it.

How do i find my password or key on my wirerless modem

the modem only gives your router an ip in order for it to communicate with your ISP (internet service provider).
1. turn off your wireless antenna and plug you PC directly into the router with an Ethernet cable. then type 192.168.1.1 (linksys) or 192.168.0.1 (D-link) go into the security settings and your key will be displayed

Hope this helped plz rate thx

Need to change password

After some research, I don't see in the manual where there is a password set up function. Did you set one up when you initially installed the modem? There does not seem to be any internal configuration done with this modem. All the settings were on the computer that is attached to the modem. Please clarify.

reset your modem by pressing reset button on your modem for more than 5 seconds so all the information entered will be gone including your password

than insert your modem CD and connect to your modem

set up your internet again
put your password and user name that your ISP gave you
set : get IP from ISP
get DNS from ISP
APPLY
than go to wireless setting

use wpa- personal
and set up a new password eg. (usa2008)

than it will say your computers and network setting doesnt match
go to connect find your modem
right click on it
click on properties
than go security
choose WPA- personal
TKIP
and your password (usa2008) you set to your modem
connect to your internet

im not sure if this is what you mean / thats how i anderstood your problem

NOTE : RESET YOUR MODEM IF YOU HAVE ALL YOUR INTERNET SERVICE INFORMATION

BECAUSE IT WILL DELETE ALL INFORMATION IN YOUR MODEM including user name / password / IP / DNS / and your modems password

Have Modem need to reset password

If you don't have any special settings (port forwarding, ect) just set the modem back to factory defaults by go to or look in the back or bottom *depending on the brand of modem* is a tiny hole - you will need a straighted paper clip (or a cake tester) to push and hold **while modem is on and plugged in** for about 30-60 seconds. THat should put the modem back to factory defaults, that will be the factory user name and password that comes with the modem. For example Linksys is always admin (user name) and admin (password).

Hope this helps.
