No response from DVD - Blue on light flashes but nothing else

Just bought a Jamo DVD it worked fine for a few days but now when I switch on the unit it powers up but the blue on light flashes intermitently and does not respond either via the manual controls or the remote. I think their is a dvd in there but can't get it out. Also when commected to the TV the Jamo interferes with the other channels causing them to switch off.

My Jamo systems is doing the same thing, the blue light flashes on and off but the system doesnt respond to the remote or the buttons at the front.  We have returned it to the shop and after 6 weeks we have received a replacement. We have this system a week now and it has another problem. From time to time it doesn't respond to the front buttons.

I think we're on about the same model here. I found that holding down the "Source" button whilst switching on the power at the mains would temperorly solve this issue. However, it would be nice to switch it on normally.

My sony SLV-D300P suddenly would not turn on. The blue ps button/light just flashes, but no attempt to turn the unit on works. It was working fine, without any problems, until this one occurred.

I have the same problem -- tried power reset, tried holding stop button for 5 second reset, nothing works. If I push the power button or the eject button, the blue light flashes momentarily then goes out.

My jamo DVD, cd, tuner unit will not reboot even when I unplug and restart. The blue lights come on and it says 'power up' but then it won't work.

there will be bad caps on the power supply pcb assy, change those capactors that have been bubbled, tops pushed outward, and it should work.

Jensen UV8 wiring issues

Hi,

Appreciate the direct "Ask Me".

I am assuming that by your post "...the player worked fine..." refers to the unit operating as expected. To your concern:
  • clock resets;
  • dvd player light flashes on and off;
  • missing ding driver's door open.
All of the above indicates a wiring error or at the very least a loose connection more particularly to the mains B+ (always on). The always on B+12 is directly tied to the + battery terminal and as the name implies, with or without the key in the IGN SW, there is a +12. This always on B+12 is responsible for the clock to maintain its time, the memory of the headunit to retain presets tuner stations and all other settings. It is also responsible for providing the power to the "ding" circuitry and sensor. Pls re-check that the following wires are connected as indicated:
  • Yellow (with the filter/fuse) - always on B+12
  • Red - ACC +12 (ignition switch)
  • Black - car body ground/negative
  • Pink - Handbrake switch
  • Green/White (if present) - reverse switch on the gearbox
  • Brown (if present) - mobile phone in use mute trigger (if used)
  • Blue - to power a motorized/amplified antenna (if needed)
  • Blue/White - to power an external amplifier (if used)
Additionally, if I may inquire, year, make and model of the car it was installed in.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

USB problem

It seems the DVD player is not recognizing 4GB flash disk. I have checked and I can't see that there is a firmware update for this model though I can see one for the DMR 50. Try contacting Jamo support

If you have another usb lead or a lead that can collect two usb sockets to the flash disk you may find this works as there is more 5 volts power available from two sockets.

We depend on you rating solutions - I hope this is useful.

Wharfdale DVDR24HD160F

Hi Barb22,

Sounds faulty to me, I'd take it back to the store and get a replacement. However, I guess you want that DVD out first? I'm not sure this will work because the units logic board is mostly likely faulty and will prevent the DVD transport from opening. Unplug the unit and press the eject button, keeping it pressed plug the unit back in. If the unit does not come on then press the power button too. If the unit starts to open release the button immediately. It's unlikely to eject, but you might get lucky.

Sorry I can't be of much further help.

Regards,

Jamo DVR 50 Frozen?... Solutions?

I have the same frozen problem vith Jamo DRV-50.
But I found this:

www.leifline.com/reptips/DVD_DVD-VIDEO/DVD.htm

Its a swedish site for electronic repearments, Jamo DVR-50 have problems with heat also and capacitors in the power suply unit goes burned. So the instructions are:

1.Simptoms:Various strange error

2.Solution: Replace the capacitors in the power supply, especially C30 470μF/ 10V, C31 2200μF/ 10V and C16 1000μF/ 10V.

My service guy already told me that some electrical parts in the power supply unit are burned, he replace them and succeded to powerOn the unit but still jamo have problems staying powered on and now im going to tell him to replace those capacitors C30, C31 and C16, and i hope this will work.
