A red steady light on the adapter means it is ready to be connected to a wireless network. If it fails to connect then the WPA key is not correct.

WPA automatically changes keys on a frequent basis for security purposes. So you need to take note of the SSID (wireless network name) and the Wireless security settings (WPA and passphrase) from the wireless access point/router.

Once you have the wireless network settings on the access-point/router, go to the System area to enter those settings.

If all settings are correct, exit the System area. Your console should now be connected to your wireless network.

Hope this helps! Good luck!

Network adapter has a red light. What do?

Make sure you are plugging the adapter in the back of the Xbox 360, and then go to Settings>Network>Wireless Connections> and input your Info. The red light just means it's waiting for the configuration.

I cant connect to xbox live

The red meant it was ready for configuration. If there is no light it means it is not receiving power. Try plugging it in again, or plugging it in to a front USB slot. If it still doesn't work your adapter has a defect and should be replaced.
