Very similar problem here, too. I have to constantly turn the speaker phone to ON so I can talk and hear - otherwise, it's dead silent.

Re: T-Mobile wing problems

The issue is speaker related....if you arent able to hear anyone when on speaker phone, the speaker is blown, you will need a t-mobile or HTC for assistance with this....

xeris: your issue is intermitant....could be a software malfunction, could be a sim card......if you havent tried this with support already, try a master reset or replacing the sim card.....master reset: start, settings, system, clear storage. if that still doesnt work, call tmobile or HTC for a replacement.

Re: T-Mobile wing problems

When I went to my local T-mobile dealer about the sudden absence of any sound from my Wing, he suggested I take the battery out, then put it back in. It worked.

Since then I have discovered that sometimes this fix works (why?) and sometimes it doesn't.

Not happy at all here, to have spent so much on the phone and then find out that when I answer a phone call, I've no idea whether I'm going to be able to hear anything or not, and I may or may not be able to "fix" it.

If anyone has more insight on this, I'd sure like to hear it.

Phone wont vibrate

ok i dont know if this solves the problem for good, but i do know that it solves temperately. I went to phone settings and set the ring tone profile to vibrate. then i kept pressing the play button until the squeaking went away. It seems as though once the little moter in the phone goes at a constant speed it stops squeeking. the squeaking stops for a good while and is better than nothing. Someone tell me if this works for them. thanks ;]

High pitched ringing when LCD is on

Obviously it's crosstalk from the supply for the LCD backlight supply into the audio's odd, because the supply should feed LEDs rather than a CF...but I'm thinking maybe a label in the phone got wet and is conducting your whine over to the audio bits.
The general solution is to crack the case, find the audio circuits, and make sure there is no deposit linking the areas such as from water condensation, spilled coffee, soaked label, etc. You can hear when you've fixed it!

Get the mobile to service center, no other way. My friends mobile speaker also stopped working, on giving to service center they repaired in just few minutes. May be some loose connection inside it.

T-Mobile Wing no sound........

Don't know if you've tried this yet, but adjust the volume slider on the left side of the phone. A screen will appear. One is for the phone volume and one is for the system volume..Sometimes one can be muted by accident. Also check your system settings under sound..Next, open Windows Media Player and make sure the volume is up. If that doesn't work I don't know what to tell you..I've had this phone for a while and that is one problem I have never seen.

T-mobile Wing speaker problem

I had this happen after around 14 months of usage. Mind you, I changed the registry value in the first week I had it so that the speaker volume was increased to a hearable level, so perhaps I just burned out the speaker after having it on high for so long.
Anyway, I went ahead and bought the replacement part (HTC Wing P4350 Loud speaker ringer buzzer parts OEM USA) from eBay for US$8 including shipping, and I put it in the other week and it worked fine! I was so happy! You need the appropriate star mini screwdriver (my friend had one), and you undo the four screws after taking off the battery cover and battery. Plus you need to be Ok with unscrewing through that little Void sticker on one of the screws. After that, the enclosure where the speaker is will lift out, and the speaker itself will come out as well, it just sits in there connecting with the contacts on the board. Anyhow, I took my old one out, plopped the new one in, and put it back together. Turned it on, and voila! My speaker was working again.
In case it helps, when mine went out I noticed some crackling coming from it off and on for about a day before, and then on the day it went out the crackling was loud and distorted the music I was playing. After a couple of minutes it stopped playing altogether, restarts didn't help.
At least this problem is fixable, but first determine whether it is the speaker or a driver issue. Try to play a file in Windows Media Player - if it looks like it's playing, and there is no sound (and the Windows Media Player sound is turned up AND your phone volume is turned up), then it's most likely your speaker. Good news, you can fix it. Good luck!
