I have a dmc-fz30. I turn it on, the display comes on, but the picture is black. Like the lens cap is on (but it's not). Could the shutter or iris not be opening. I have a repair manual and know how to disassemble/reassemble, but am not sure what to repair. I have error codes:
Soft 35800508
Lens 18800002 (this code is listed twice)
Any suggestions please

I think I have just seen the problem. I turned on the camera and removed the lens cap, the image quickly faded to black.
I'm thinking that possibly the iris is sensing the light and closing, but closing all the way shut.
Any suggestions please??
I have the same problem
