Question about Televison & Video
I noticed the the disc does not spin. The motor number is JQ24-351350F. Would it help if I replace this motor with an RF-300FA-11400?

Sounds like a read error fault , possibly a laser malfunction sometimes dirt on the lens will cause this try a good CD cleaner if this is no good I suggest a free engineers estimate at least you can then ask again on here how to fix it . My honnest guess is either a duff laser or software corruption . I have known seating of the tray to cause this also not returning fully back into machine , usually caused by children and alien matter ? shall we say such as choclate or M&MS kids shove stuff everywhere ? bless them lol
hope this helps Regards Vortash

I've had a similar problem where the disc continues spinning in the "loading" mode and then finally goes to "disc error." So, I opened the cover of the player, and noticed that the disc was not spinning as fast as I expected, and there was an extra unpleasant sound when the disc was spinning. Thus, I suspected there was an issue in the drive motor system: either the motor drive board, the motor itself, or the contact to the disc. I saw that there was dust accumulated on the rubber contacts to the disc, so I cleaned them with a q-tip. I then resetted the system, and the disc was the spinning normally again, and everything worked like before! (Other things I have tried in the past were cleaning the lens and updating the firmware, none of which worked) I hope this helps!

SOURCE: Samsung HT-Z410: ''Disc Error''
It's not the lens. It's the bottom plate on the disk pickup. Dust gets on the rubber pieces (there are three oval shaped pads) that do not adhere properly to the disk which causes the disk to turn too slowly for the lens to read it properly. Clean those off with alcohol swabs and let dry. Also blow off all the dust in the unit since it will already be open. I have also decided to leave a disk in the player so that dust will not have a chance to get on those bumpers again. I did this last weekend and have not had problems since.
