YOU NEED TO GET INTO THE CONSUMER MENU AND ACTIVATE THE AUTO PROGRAMM MODE. I BELIEVE WALMART CARRIES A UNIVERSAL SONY REMOTE WHICH WILL ALLOW YOU INTO THE MENU.

If the cable provider is sending digital signals a TV that old will not be able to receive them. If they are not digital signals they may be encrypted. You may need a cable box from the cable provider or use a DTV box to get free over-the-air digital broadcast signals.

SOURCE: Is there any way to add more channels or delete

Hello,
Haier HLT71 is a digital TV, that meanthis tv can recive digital broadcast.

A digital tv have 8 program each channel. Not like analog tv that only 1 program each channel.

So, if you want to save 1 channel , 8 channel will automaticaly saved as well.

Thats imposible to save or delete from your program.

I have a magnovox 52 inch hdtv and i deemed all the contrast color abd brightness so that the room would be dark, now the problem is i cant see my screen to get it back bright

Hi Edwin.

The exact procedure depends on the TV model. Start disconnecting the power cord for five minutes. That works only with old models. New TVs retain settings even after disconnecting power.

If power own reset does not work, please give me detailed info on the TV's make and model, so that I can give you the exact reset procedure.

Regards.

Hello, my 25" Magnovox (#mt2501c)

Tv fell off about 3 feets or more?Yes,turn on the tv see if u getting any power to the unit?Might have broken main PCB board too.If unit still have power, check see if tv get statics screen have colors shaded in red or mutiples colors, mean the tv CRT(tv tube) yoke is dead and damages scrambles radiation.Or the tv getting power but have high pitch sqeeling noises or rattles noises,tv have the CRT-(tv tube) is crack by the neck or broken totally.CRT have damages problems or dead tv is worthless, beacause of CRT(tv tube) is dead, not fixable even that antena connector input is replaced.

Philips Magnovox FP5240 W101 color is washed out and NO brightness. has to be near dark to see picture

ll projection TV sets have two very common problems. One is convergence ( 3D/Warped video) the other is CRT fluid ( Dull Video). Here are more details and solutions for both.

Common Problem #1) Convergence has gone out

Projection TV sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projection sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem.

Common Symptoms include....

  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.
  • TV shuts off after powering on. Power light will blink. TV may also make a chirping noise.
Here are some pics of convergence problems.

Common Problem #2) CRT Fluid is Cloudy

Projection TV tubes have a liquid coolant that is used to keep them from overheating. After many years the coolant in the blue and green tubes will become cloudy and cause the screen to look dull, red/orange, etc. You may even see halos around images.

New TV won't ''talk to'' old VCR

using the magnovox remote, reprogram the vcr's channels. set it up to use cable not air. when the vcr was unlugged it lost it's channel memory. don't buy new cables, you're getting a picture and sound so that means your rca cables are ok.
