Will not connect to the internet

Would not connect to the Internet. When disabled could connect no problem. Did an uninstall and reinstall but when I reinstall it gives me a driver error and will not complete the install. Downloaded a program from Trend micro to fix this problem, but it didn't work.

If you can connect to the internet don't worry about it.

Do you have more than one wireless applications to use to get on the internet? Maybe the one you are not using is the one with the X across it. If you just put your mouse pointer on the one with the X on it, the system will tell you what application it is. If it's not the one you use to connect with, that's why the X never changes.

Can not get on the internet. Sent to HP repair

PCIe internal modem.Go to control panel, click it and goto network and Internet connections. You should see your connection listed.Right click it and left click "properties" .Under "general" you will see install- uninstall.Click "uninstall" and follow the prompts being sure to click apply and ok.Reboot, windows will reinstall the drivers and hopefully you'll have Internet again.
The USB ports can also be uninstalled and reinstalled.Right click "my computer" and "properties"then "hardware" then "device manager".USBs are at the bottom of the page.Expand by clicking on the + and all your USBs will show up.Look for ones with X's or yellow highlights. These are disabled, you can open them with a right click and uninstall. Now only mess with the ones that have been disabled or you could disable your keyboard or mouse. Then do the Reboot and windows will reinstall. You can really screw things up in Device manager so if you don't feel safe messing with it please have someone else do the fixing. These things are easily fixed with the drivers being reinstalled,

M300 toshiba connecting to locally, not connect to internet

Dear Shifsa,

Considering the fact that you are trying to connect to a wifi connection which of course is unsecured,
here are some workarounds..

1. Uninstall the wireless card driver.
Go to device manager > click on the + sign beside network adapters > right click on the wireless adapter and select uninstall. Restart the computer it should get reinstalled automatically.

2. try disabling or uninstalling the antivirus or internet security software. you can later on again download the a free software from www.hippo.com

Hope this helps.

Anup

Downloaded stopzilla, uninstalled it, limited to no internet cont

Some systems like to go in to a "fail safe mode" when you remove them and some are just plain nasty.  Check that it has not disabled your network cards.  Or left services behind (that are probably not running).
Your only choice may be to reinstall.

Connection problems

If your connected to a router, is your router connected to a firewall as well.

One thing I have noticed too on Vista is even though you tell windows security to turn off the firewall it doesn't mean it is completely turned off unless you go into the control panel, select admistration tools (if you have access to it), double click on services, select windows firewall, and disable it.

Then it is shut down for good.
