Question about RIM BlackBerry 8800

1 Answer

Web pages on my 8900 are so small I can't read them unless I ''zoom in'', but then you can't read a sentence without having to use the trackball to scroll to the right to finish the sentence. Increasing font size doesn't help. Any solutions?

I'm having the same problem on certain pages (Medianet, mostly). Did you try increasing the font size for the Browser as well as the Blackberry?

How do i enlarge print when it too small to read after printing

Reading what a Word Document, PDF, the printed paper? I am so curious. For printed paper, you have to go back to the old days of a magnifying glass. For Word to enlarge the text, you can use the slide at the bottom of the document for press CTRL + Mouse Wheel Scroll. In Adobe they are also CTRL +/-. That is CTRL and "+" to zoom in and CTRL and "-" to zoom out. For web browsers, both these tips should work. Tip: Always save from the web prior to printing. Even if it is a web page. Web browsers have never done real well with printing. That is why most sites give you a PDF to print from. !!! Note: DO NOT send sensitive information to the following suggestion !!! There are even web sites that will create a PDF of web content that you need printed nicely: pdfmyurl.com.

How to change text size in Internet Explorer

Some web sites use larger text while others use small, hard-to-read text. To change the size of text that appears on a web page in Internet Explorer, follow one of the two procedures below.<br /> <br /> <b>To change text size:</b><br /> <br /> To make the text that is displayed in your web browser larger or smaller, click View on Internet Explorer's menu bar. From the drop-down menu, select Text Size. The five choices for text size will appear: Largest, Larger, Medium, Smaller, and Smallest. Medium is selected by default, but you can choose the size that you want. To change to a different size, just go back to the View menu and choose a new size.<br /> <br /> Internet Explorer saves the selection that you make. If you load a new web page, or close and reopen your browser, the text size will remain at the level that you've chosen, until you choose differently.<br /> <br /> <b>To zoom:</b><br /> <br /> Another way to alter text size is to use the Zoom feature. Zoom increases or decreases text size, but it will also make everything else on the page (such as graphics) larger or smaller as well. Zoom options can be found under the View menu, next to Zoom. You can choose a preset percentage to zoom, or enter a custom value, or just go larger or smaller by stepped increments.<br /> <br /> The nice thing about zoom is that it has keyboard shortcuts associated with it, unlike the Text Size feature. By pressing [CTRL][+] you can zoom in (make everything appear larger) and [CTRL][-] will zoom out. If you want to reset the zoom value back to the standard view, press [CTRL][0]. These shortcuts will affect text size, but only in proportion with everything else on the page.<br /> <br /> Some web sites (such as Yahoo) are designed so that the Text Size feature won't override the text size specified in the site's code. For sites like these, you can use the Zoom feature to enlarge or reduce text size.

I hooked my keyboard and went to my facebook page and the writing on the page and the pictures are so small you can't read them or hardly tell who the people are

Unrelated to the keyboard. You have your web browser zoomed out. Go to Facebook and hold the Ctrl key then press + until it is zoomed in to your liking.

Setting time on casio watch eqs500db

First of all, thank you very much for choosing FIXYA today for your online technical support needs.

Here is a direct link to the ONLINE USER'S MANUAL for that model:

http://ftp.casio.co.jp/pub/world_manual/wat/en/qw5123.pdf

To view the Owner's Manual with Operating Instructions just use your mouse to click on the link, which is the underlined and blue highlighted text just above.

This will open a new web browser page automatically for you and allow you to view the information at the website indicated and the contents of the Owner's Manual.

You may need ADOBE READER installed on your computer to read PDF documents, although many computers already have this type of utility pre-installed.

You can download this free at WWW.ADOBE.COM if necessary.

Click on the DOWNLOAD ADOBE READER button on right side of the ADOBE home page when you get there, then follow the onscreen instructions to install the software on your computer.

See page 2 of the manual for detailed instructions and illustrations on HOW TO CONFIGURE CURRENT TIME AND DATE SETTINGS.

If the text size of that online manual is too small for you to read, then just look near the top of that page for the large PLUS / MINUS ( + - ) buttons which are the ZOOM IN and ZOOM OUT buttons. Just click on the PLUS ( + ) button repeatedly to ZOOM IN to the document and enlarge the text size until you can read it properly. Then just use the SLIDER BARS at the bottom and on the right hand hand side of that screen to view all parts of the page while it is zoomed in.

I truly hope that was helpful to you.

Good luck and take care.

Joe.

Of recent...my BlackBerry 8900 trackball randomly scrolls to the top of the screen. And once this starts it does it continually. Then a next time it stops and doesn't respond to any movements of the track...

Sounds like you might have something stuck in the trackball. I would roll a piece of tape so the sticky side is up and roll the ball around on the tape to try and get some of the dust and other things off of it.

SUDDENLY THE PRINT IS SO SMALL I CANNOT READ MY EMAIL. THE FONT CHANGED WITHOUT ME DOING ANYTHING AND THERE IS NO ICON WITH TEXT SIZE ANYWHERE FOR ME TO CHANGE IT. VERY FRUSTRATING; CANNOT READ IT SO...

If you are using the browser like IE, or Firefox, you can use the "Zoom in Zoom out" function to enlarge or minimise your page. Go to menu options -> View -> Zoom

Use Keyboard -> Hold Keys "Ctrl & press the + or - sign" to enlarge or minimise the page.

Hope it helps.

Was told to increase dpi to enlarge text inside web pages

Hi,

If you are using Internet Explorer there are 2 things you can do:

1) Click on View>Text Size. There are 5 settings. Select Larger or Largest.

2) Make sure your Status Bar is showing. Select View>Toolbars and make sure Status Bar has a checkmark. If not click it. Right above the taskbar clock there should be a little Zoom magnifying glass. If you click on the little arrow you can choose 50% to 400%.

Thanks for using Fixya.

Font size problem when printing documents

Hi, my name is adam. I am pretty sure what you are describing is a common problem. Before you print you need to go to print setup or print preview and change the zoom settings so that when it prints it can be zoomed to where you can see it clearer.
