Excuse me! If your refrigerator is compressor based it is completely different from the possible reasons I suggested as it works onexpansion not partial presure law.

If your cooling unit gradually quit working it's more than likely due to Hydrogen diffusion. This process is not easy to understand.Hydrogen, having atomic # 1,is the lightest element there is.Almost all absorption cooling units are charged with it.Actually Helium works good too,and it is inert while Hydrogen is extremely flammable and burns with an invisible flame.A lot of older cooling units suffer from this problem and the manufacturers won't tell you about it.The Hydrogen actually diffuses through the pores of the steel tubing. There is no leak in the cooling unit per se.The pressure in the cooling unit may be down about 50 or 60 pounds from what it should be around 330 PSI.The Ammonia will now boil off at a higher pressure than it should.Due to partial pressure law,the Ammonia only sees it's own vapor pressure not the total Hydrogen pressure. So when the Liquid Ammonia boils off in the upper evaporator,it boils off at a higher temperature than it should. This also starves the lower evaporator of liquid Ammonia, and cooling only occurs where liquid Ammonia is boiling off. Please also go to: www.marvinspropanerefrigerators.com

Those are the small radiator like assemblies either under the unit or in the back. Use a long brush if under the unit.

Defrost completely. The unit is probably iced up. Make sure your gaskets are clean and sealing well. If it happens again, we need to find out why. Also...clean the condenser.

The condenser is the coils that are generally located under the fridges...they reject heat into the air. They full of dust and gunk and cut efficiency. They should be cleaned once a year.

Window shopping and introducing lots of moisture into the box is a bad idea. That's what caused the problem. If you're going to put hot tea in the fridge...it will cost more to cool it than leaving it out. Also, some of the steam/moisture will remain in the fridge. Avoid it.

Samsung rs2630sh not cooling or freezing

If it has fan to deliver cold air, and it is not working, cold air is stuck on the begining. So your fan could be dead. And I suppose, that compressor is running all the time. Even compressor could stert freezing if fan does not deliver cold air in fridge. The other option is, that there is not enough gas in the compressor. In this case compressor vould not be freezing, but line, going out of compressor has to be hot, if it is not, there is no gas.

Freezer works fridge does not

Needs to be completely thawed for 2 days. Or wlse the circulator fan under the freezer panel inside freezer is not working. Take the plastic bottom of freezer out and let thaw. Then plug in fridge and check if the fan is running inside there. Do not poke around inside there or fridge will be punctured and ruined.

That depends on if your model has a five or ten year warranty on the compressor. Your problem may not be warranty related. Check and see if the condenser is clean, check for a frozen cooling coil.

Frigidaire FRT18HB5DW2 fridge not cooling

Sounds like an air flow problem to the lower unit. Take the sheetmetal or plastic rear cover off the freezer back wall and make sure the coils are frosted up good and even but NOT a block of ice inches thick (air needs to circulate and a blocked coil won't let air move over it efficiently). Make sure the fan is running to move the air around. In the fridge area make sure the air dampers are letting the cold air from the freezer down to the fridge compartment. Depending on what you find will determine the next steps so let us know.
