Hold agitator at bottom, grab cap on top of agitator and snap off, look down in side of agit and you will see white plastic cover with two handle like clips, reach inside with fingers and pull cap out, you will then see a bolt, unscrew bold, **** agitator out. Install in reverse of removal.

Model LW3502W. How can I remove agitator?

It pulls straight up and off .But after many years this will be easier said than done due to accumulated grime. Pullers with extensions are sold for this purpose, but the price might outweigh the benefit. You can also break the agitator to get it off, but check first to make certain you can get a replacement.

Another trick involves drilling straight down the center (under the fabric softener cup) of the agitator and spraying a lubricant like WD40 on the hole to help loosen the agitator where it attaches to the drive shaft spline.

the pump is under the machine, some have a little plastic side hatch you open to get to the pump.

the bow is gotten to but removing the agitator, usually a thumb nut down the middle of agitator, and then pull up agitator to remove out the top,

soak up all the water & clean out the dirt & scale you find.

Removing kenmore agitator 417.94862302

You do not have agitator dogs in your machine, yours is made by Frigidaire the agitator can be removed by removing the top of the agitator and remove the bolt. It is screwed directly into the transmission shaft, You want to check the belt to see if it is stretch out , just normal from use.

I am unable to remove the agitator from my Kelvinator K605 washin

Before removing the agitator, unplug the washer to avoid an electrical shock hazard.
The agitator's movement back and forth is important for the cleaning of your laundry. If it doesn't function properly, your clothes won't be as clean as possible. If your agitator does not move, moves only in one direction or its movement is very weak, you will probably need to remove the agitator. Furthermore, in order to inspect the tub for leaks, the clutch assembly, the splines, or to remove the spin drum, you will have to remove the agitator.
he agitator is fastened to the agitator shaft and its movement is driven either by splines or a simple clutch assembly. The splines are usually plastic or rubber nubs on a cylinder that fits over the agitator shaft. If the nubs wear down, the shaft will not turn properly or it will turn weakly. If the agitator is moving in only one direction, the likely cause is the clutch assembly. The clutch has dogs that depress and pop up with each turn. If those dogs are worn, they will not engage properly and the agitator will turn only in one direction.

How do you remove the agitator on a Maytag Dependable Care Washer?

If this is a Maytag Performa or Atlantis model all you have to do is remove the center cap on the agitator by pulling on it and locate the agitator bolt underneath. Loosen the bolt, and the agitator should pull straight up.

If this is a Maytag Dependable Care series there will be 1/4 inch screw along the side of the agitator towards the bottom. Remove this screw and the agitator will pull straight up.

I hope this helps you.

PS If the problem is due to the build up of fabric softener, soak in some hot water to loosen it up. Fabric softener is essentially a form of liquid wax and it is common for it to accumulate and clog the dispenser in this manner. Periodic cleaning is recommended.
