it depends of what op system you want to install ...you can use the recovery CD ...and ussually it will reinstall the OS ..and the drivers ..but Im not sure if it formating the C partition ...and if you want to get rid of bugs ..this would not help you much cauze they may came back in a week or so ...but ...you can get a boot-able cd with vista os or xp ...and reinstall it clean ...: first ..remove or back up all data you do not want to loose fromthe C partition ..( you can move them into the other partitions if you have space .. second ..insert the disk ...and restart ..if the boot order is already set from bios to boot from cd first ..it will prompt you to press any key to boot from cd .. after that it will search for previous installations ...and prompt ya for an action ...usually is best to choose that you dont want to recover..(press esc) and delete the C partition and reformat ..after that it will load the installation files..and restart ...after restart ..things will go at it own ...until you have to enter the product key and select the time zone ..language and ..network type .. after finishing the actual windows installation you have to enter all drivers for the devices you have ... in this point ..you can actually insert the recovery cd ...( if you installing the same OS as in original ) and even if it will reinstall the windows too ..at least will be on a clean install ...it will install all your drivers also .... if you want to change from vista in xp or the other way ..and dont have the drivers ...let me know...
Place the disk in the drive starting with disk one if there are more than one disk, and reboot the computer. when prompt to press any key to boot from CD do so. and the CD should run. just follow all instructions from there. This should work as long as it is a recovery disk. if its a fresh installation of the OS, thew steps are a bit different. Of course if the computer does run the disk you may need to change the bios setting to boot from CD drive, but this may not be necessary.
insert the cd- rebot computer -wait for prompt screen to press any key and do -then go through the step by step. Reformatting hard drive and such. but it might be easier if you use the partition that is on the computer and reboot off that. it is much more user friendly and most likley won't cause a head ache. ALT+ F10 key on first boot screen.
When computer very very first boots up, press F2 I believe. F8 if it doesn't work. Then you will get into bios settings. You can see a section that says boot up device options. you will want to choose your cd rom as first boot up and then hard drive as second. Then save settings, put disc in pc and restart it. It will then instantly read and run disc first thing.
