Both those questions have varying answers. The batteries may last for a month to maybe 3 months. Variables such as how often you use it and whether it is illuminated will make a difference.

As far as distance goes, you will just have to experiment with it, but you should be able to sit across a room with no problem.

You may want to consider getting some rechargable batteries and always having some available. If you are like me, they will always go bad at just the wrong moment.

Good luck and thanks for using Fixya.

Hi, first thing is check batteries, Then under your keyboard you may find a reset button, Failing that then try the unit in another computer, even if that computer already has a wireless keyboard in you can plug yours in and determine if it works or not, if it does not work then I am sorry to say but the unit has become faulty. Take care, Enjoy life Ad

How to activiate iball wireless keyboard and mouse

My keyboard and mouse are microsoft, But, I think they all sync the same, Look on the bottom of the mouse and the keyboard, you should find a small button, one on the reciever also, these need to be pushed in a certain sequence, Mine is the keyboard first, then the reciever, watch the active light on the reciever, it should flash a few times then stay on, then it's synced, Do the same with the mouse, Your's could be different though, it could be mouse first. One more thing they need to be less than a couple feet apart when you do this. so that's it Good luck. Bob

My logitech mouse wont work but i think it might be the reciever thats messed up

hi bruce,

for security and comfort reasons, get another keyboard and mouse
( just in case you mix up sth. or windows fails recognizing your cordless devices)
then

- do check if the batteries of the mouse have gone flat,

- powering up the usb port 2.0 voltage in BIOS (only if there is such option available!) might add to the range of the transmitter

- now resyncronize keyboard, mouse and transmitter device

good luck.

Keyboard and mouse not working

Make sure you have fresh batteries...usually this is how to set up a wireless keyboard and mouse. Insert the reciever in the USB and hit the link button normally located as a recessed button on the bottom, a light will blink....On the keyboard press the button as before located as a recessed button on the bottom. Once linked the reciever light should stop blinking...do the same with the mouse.

Keyboard doesn't register.

I agree with you that your keyb is still working.. I have tested about 250 of these reported faulty over the years, and pretty much all of the keyboards worked fine. If they have life in the display, they also work. The BT connection is however not always super reliant. :-)

First of, be SURE that your batteries are FRESH before you do any of the following, as weak batteries is the most common cause of your symptom, and you may save a lot of frustration. Do not rely on the fact that batteries mighe be relatively new, they might have been mixed up, or something. (Buy a battery tester.. I love mine, and it earns itself back in batteries :-)

If batteries are fresh, and problem persists, next question is: Have you updated your Setpoint software recently? If not, please do so. Take out the USB reciever, and stick it back in. It should update itself with new firmware, and this solves a lot of issues.

If you DO update regulary, try to uninstall, and reinstall Setpoint, and reconnect after. Don't ask me why this is necessary, or what happens during the process, because I cant tell you, but I know that it's a method that solves most problems as you describe.

Good luck !
