Question about Maytag Neptune MDE5500AY Electric Dryer
I have had my electric maytag dryer for 2 years and yesterday the drum
stopped turning and it is not heating up. The controls are still
working. We took it apart and realigned the belt, which was in
good condition, but it still will not work. What else could it be?
These units use two circuits to operate. It is entirely possible that the circuit breaker for one is open. The breakers are linked units...generally 30-40 amperes. Turn both off and then on.

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.
