How do i transfer pictures from the camera to my computer?

I seem to have exactly the same problem.
I don't know if you installed the USB cable driver, and already tried selecting the proper port in the Samsung software.
To determinate if the cable driver is properly installed and which COM port it has asigned, right click on my computer (in your desktop or the start menu), click on properties, go to the hardware tab, click on the device manager button, expand the ports thingy, and look up for USB data cable or something similar from the device list. Find out the COM port then go to the samsung software and select that port from the list in the configuration window. Close and re start the program (or press F3, don't know if it works in all versions of the software)
I really hope it doesn't works, because then it's a problem of the software and not of my own phone!!! Anyway post here your results so I can tell.
