Question about Honeywell Electronic Programmable Heat/Cool Thermostat - CT3300A100 Heater

1 Answer

My furnace hasn't been used all summer. I have tried to turn it on, but it won't fire up. I have changed the batteries in my digital thermostat, and I can set the program for the week, bbut it does not come on. When I try to override it does not work either. My furnace was working just fine before summer, so I am wondering if there is some sort of reset on the thermostat or something. It is a Honeywell, but I cannot see a model number on it

Am I able to adjust the 'hysteresis' of my digital thermostat?

Some thermostats allow you to change the differential value - that is how far below the heating (or above the cooling) set point before calling for heat (or cooling in the case of air conditioning). The built in 1 degree differential setting provides the most even temperature in the space at the expense of more frequent furnace firing and stopping. Many people prefer this mode as opposed to allowing wider swings in temperature for less frequent furnace firing and stopping. If you wish to change this setting, you'll need to replace the thermostat as it is not user adjustable in this model.

Thermostat sometimes doesn't turn furnace on

Hello Kathy, The first thing that I would do is change the batteries in the thermostat. One or more may be weak and not turn on your furnace. I would put in Alkaline batteries. If that doesn't help, maybe a new thermostat is in order.

No heat model 44100b

First make sure that your heating system is on (gas turned on if applicable). Check the unit for any error messages. My furnace has a blinking LED for trouble-shooting. However, the typical issues for it are: blocked air inlet and burner ignite the gas (alternatively, pilot light unlit). Once, the problem has been with the circuit board but that failed in the summer. Make sure the circuit breaker is on and that the cover of the furnace is fully seated. (This can be an issue after changing the filter.)

Next change the batteries if they are low. (This model needs new batteries every 30 days or so since it doesn't use AC power.) Make sure that the thermostat is set for heat. If this is a replacement thermostat, double-check that the wires were connected to the correct spots. (You should have labeled these when the old thermostat was removed.) Tighten all of the terminal screws. Use a unbent paper clip to press the reset button on the thermostat (just below and to the right of the up/down arrows). If the furnace works and the above do not solve the problem, replace the thermostat.

The manual for the 44100b is available here: http://www.hunterfan.com/uploadedFiles/Support/Owner_Manuals/44100.pdf .

I hope this helps.

Furnace not firing up...thermostat said low battery ...installed new batteries. Green (LED) light indicating power to thermostat is off. Furnace still doesn't fire up.

1) Turn the fan to on and if it runs you know that you have line
voltage to furnace and 24volts to the thermostat.

2) You could turn the furnace off remove the doors and get to the
control board. If you can find the Thermostat wires on the board
mark and remove them. If you have a typical Furnace and you
have some electrical background put a jumper wire between
terminals R and W,put the doors back on-there is a door switch
that if the panel is not put back on-it will not run. Turn your power
back on.

3) The Blower motor may come on, the induced draft blower should
come on, the glow coil should glow, the gas valve open and the
burners should come on and the unit should run.

4) If all of this happens, then you have a thermostat problem or you
have bad thermostat wires.

5) If nothing happens then you don`t have power to the furnace or the
little fuse that protects the transformer is blown.

Good Luck

No digital readout on home thermostat. No backlight either.

Turn the Furnace off, Disconnect the R and W thermostat wire from the control board located usually in lower compartment of furnace, the blower
is usually mounted behind it.

Make sure the 2 wires you disconnect are going to
R(usually power) and W(usually Heat) other terminal
markings are y(for cool) g(for fan). After Disconnecting the R and W wires Turn the furnace
back on. You will probably have to hold a door switch
in to complete the circuit. If everything is correct the
furnace should not run.

This is more than likely that you have the R and W
wires touching eachother and you need to get them seperated.

Carrier 58PAV070 doesn't make a sound or attempt to fire up at all on first use after summer.

thermostats call for the heater relay to engage, try jumpering the W and R terminal at the furnace with all other wires disconnnected from cuirciut board, if heat comes on your t-stat is bad.

Thermostat does not follow the setting

If the thermostat is a digital /programmable you may want to recheck program to see if it has changed or been changed. If thermostat is not digital then it is prbably warn out and need replaced.

Dometic/Duotherm propane furnace won't fire up

If this unit has a spark ignition you may just need to clean the flame sensor. It is a metal rod protruding in the path of the flame.
