Question about Saniflo SaniPlus-Round SaniPlus Macerator Toilet with Round Bowl

1 Answer

Helicopter starting :)

We moved into a flat which uses the Saniflo Saniplus. The motor started to go on for a longer period of time after flushing or using the bath. It wasn't so loud and long before. Also when we take a shower it starts normally but stops after some time and then the water stays in the bathtub. It starts after cca 15mins again.
Could there be some problems with the motor? Do we need a professional service or can we solve this problem our-selves?

Could be the thermal trip on the motor. Suggest you remove the lid and clean out any buildups inside. check for for a jam, around the blades like a tampon. Careful - they are very sharp!

I have a saniplus. hums constantly, no longer spins when flush toilet/run taps etc. Water just sits there and slowly empties overnight - gravity?

Could be an obstruction in the blade, impeller or the discharge line. Also the starting capacitor may have gone bad and is not keeping up with the head pressure, it may need to be replaced. But i would suggest inspectin the unit first for any obstructions.

Think my young son put somthing down the toilet filled up with watre wont flush but hums intermitently

Definitely there is an obstruction on the blade or impeller inside the pump casing. Pry open the lid using a flat head screwdriver and remove the motor with pressure chamber out of the pump csing as one piece. Once the motor is out inspect the blade (on top of motor) and the impeller which is at the bottom of the motor. Also the starting capacitor may have seized up. If the capacitor goes bad it tend to hum and not pump any waste out.

AAV for saniflo.

You cannot use a cheater, studdor or mechanical vent or an AAV on any Saniflo product. As they are considered one way vents, they only allow air to flow one way. Saniflo pumps must have an 1 1/2" vent pipe vented to the open air, air must flow in and out of the vent pipe at all times, otherwise the pump will short cycle and the solids will not leave the toilet. You will have to flush it several times to get rid of the waste and eventually the motor will go bad. Make sure is vented properly.

Saniflo Saniplus won't stop pumping

is it pumping against gravity? if so there is a non-return flap in the outlet spigot could be stuck or worn.

It starts up before I flush!

is your saniplus connected to a shower or hand basin. if so - some water could be getting into the saniplus while you are on it and causing the unit to operate while you are "on the bowl". dripping taps / valves or a "leaky" toilet cistern are the most likely sources.

One time flush is never enough (suniplus noisy)

needs a damn good clean - see my other posts. Dont let your landlord fob you off - or one day you will flush the loo and nothing will happen - then it gets messy.

Saniflo works in short burst when not flushed eg in night

Sound to me that the toilet is over filling and in doing so water will over flow down the pan. This is definately what I would check first!
