The plastic container is cloudy and there seams to be a slight odor, it's a little over one year old we used 5 days a week for smoothies.

Plastic will get cloudy given the fact that you will crush seeds from all the fruits you put in it and they will act like a very fine sandaper when you make your smoothies.

I can no longer unscrew the plastic part that the glass container fits into on my old Waring 18BL28 blender. It is a simple 10 speed that works perfectly.

Something sticky is in the threads... Try very hot water in the sink as a start, while boiling some water on your stove. With the glass and plastic preheated, install them to the blender base which must be unplugged for the rest of this adventure. Pour the boiling water in, only to about 1/3 of capacity. Install the top cover to protect from the hot water. Hold the glass by the handle and with a rubber glove on the opposite corner or pour spout side. Hold high to avoid the heat from the water. Have a large burly man hold the blender base so that you may twist the glass container counter-clockwise. Stop as soon as it starts to turn the plastic ring off...and go the the sink... Continue after pouring out the hot water. Remember that his procedure is likely to cause broken glass or broken plastic and exposure to scalding hot water. If those risks are acceptable you should still take precautions to protect your flesh. Otherwise order a replacement ring and pitcher for the blender.

Blender container leaks even though gasket is in place

Hey, I know this is an old thread but just had the same problem and solved it. With the blender container upside down, place the gasket on the jar hole, put the blade through the hole on top of the gasket, then screw the plastic base on top of that.

The way I had done it before was to pop the blade into the bottom of the plastic base first then screw it onto the gasket and jar but it goes on the gasket, not under the bottom of the base. Hope that helps anyone else in the future.

Also just read the manual instructions like I didn't, clear as day right there but I never bothered to read them ha

The handle to the pour spout on the bottom of the blender has broken off. So I can not put smoothee in my glass. I have to pour it in my glass for the top of cannister. Where can I get replacement parts?

If any body needs any parts for the villaware 5785 series I have everything available except the plastic smoothee container. I have the smoothee spout. If you need it I can send it to you and you can just reimburse me for the shipping after I have sent it to you. You can contact me at amylovescats2010@yahoo.com. Villaware is no longer selling the smoothee container, I doubt if they are selling other parts for it.
