Question about Chi Mei Corporation Polyview V396 (Black, Silver) 19 inch LCD Monitor

Polyview v396 won't turn on

Seems to be intermittent, I tried to take it apart and have a look but after inspection I decided to get some advice before attempting to dismantle it. By the time I put the screws back in it was working again.
Power source and leads are ok.
Now it won't turn on again

Raphy916, You should view the longer video clips dealing with LCD monitor (display) disassembly and or repair of LCD switch-mode-power-supply repair and INVERTER repair. then you will know if you should attempt to effect a repair to your LCD. Here is a little hint for you. Take pictures or video of your work progress so you can reassemble unit without EXTRA parts laying around or connectors replaced where they shouldn't be. What should you visualy inspect for??? Look for "frosty" looking solder joints on the bottom of the SMPS/inverter board, and swollen "tops" on electrolytic filter capacitors. Youtube is good for pictures and video of "bad" and or "failed filter caps" !!! Note! You didn't mention if the powersupply (ac to dc) is "lay on floor black brick" or if your monitor plugs directly into the power strip. also how many "on" hours has this unit seen over it's life???? Let me know if this info was at least a bit helpful to you. I'm louie12fix on fixya or

Remove main battery and try again, have the power supply adapter checked, if everything is good at this point the DC jack in the laptop is a common issue from no power to intermittent operation. The laptop will need to be taken apart down to the motherboard and inspected.

The security light comes on while riding intermittently and when the red key icon is on the signal lights won't work. Advice please.

You have a broken wire somewhere in the TSM/TSSM circuit. This is the circuit that handles your security system and turn signals.Where the break is located will be the hard part. Usually these break under the gas tank or near the steering head. We had one in the shop today that had a break in both places. The vibration of the bike and bumps on the road cause the break to come apart and a code, which causes the security lite to go on. When you shut the bike off, the vibration stops and the wire makes contact with itself again, completing the circuit.

I need a driver for my polyview moitor model v396

There are no drivers for monitors. Your system might be inflicted with an other problem other than a missing driver.

Good Luck!

Does it go black if you you use it as just one single monitor? If it does, you will need to open up to inspect the power supply first.
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses, poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what to look for:
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Heat is not always coming on in dryer. Roper dryer from Lowes

There are numerous temperature sensors on the dryer. Some are near the drum, some could be near the lint filter if it is located inside the dryer door. Try changing these first as they are an in expensive fix. It could also be the heating coils themselves. Highly unlikely it would be the dial, unless the dial was accidentally turned in the wrong direction.

Monitor Display Problem.

The first Polyview has a power supply problem (a short) and locks out the power until it is unplugged. You need to check the voltages inside the Monitor to determine which component/s are faulty. I hope you know electronics if not leave it to the repair shop because you have neither the skills or equipment to repair it. By the way I am not a monitor repair man but I do have 30 plus years in the electronics field.
The second monitor may have a broken wire in the cord that goes to your computer. Other internal components can cause the same simptoms your seeing. Good luck!

Polyview v396

Check the signal, is the monitor digital or analog, if your video card has a DVI conenctor, then the monitor should be DVI, so it needs to be set to Digital, If your monitor came with a CD, check to see if it has drivers that need to be installed

Polyview V17E

Same as before this sounds very similar to the problem that I had with my polyview v396 19" . Its a power supply problem unclip the panel withdraw the power supply it plugs in on its own seperate board. Look for capacitors that bulge and replace them in fact replace them all on tha board not that hard. Replace them with the same rating voltage and micro fards. Cheaper than relacing the whole panel, hope this helps. :)
