The unit turns on and off every 1 minute (while charging) is there a way to avoid it this restart?

If this is happening while driving, you could have a cradle going out. Try moving the plug at cradle slightly and if it indicates battery then charges, your cradle is defective. Cradles can be found cheap at www.gpsnstuff.com.

If it is new, send it back, but make sure you carefully read the instructions first. If is says the indicator light is red on charging and green when fully charged and it doesn't do that then the batteries or the charger are defective.

In future make and model are useful. And you posted to electric drills, but I recategorised it.

Mint Plus Turbo Charging Cradle won't function properly

Cradle and contacts are fine. Cradle circuit is nothing but a reed relay and few wires, relay closes on proximity to robot's body, therefore no voltage on contacts before robot is close to cradle.
There is a thermistor inside of battery, and mine was bad. I removed it and now I am charging the battery from my bench power supply at about 220 ma current, overnight, and it works. Probably the solution is to get a new replacement battery, but the one with the thermistor inside (OEM), easily recognized by the third wire, and all should be fine, assuming that nothing else is wrong with charging circuit or power adapter (12v/1A)
Hope this will give you some ideas of where to poke.
Once successful, please post your solution.

You may have to replace your battery, these go faulty often, even though they seem OK.

  1. Plug the charger adapter into the charging port on the bottom of the HP iPAQ Pocket PC.

  2. When the power indicator on the top of the HP iPAQ Pocket PC turns solid amber, the unit is fully charged and can be disconnected from the AC adapter (approximate time to fully charge a unit is four hours).
NOTE: The amber charge light blinks while the battery is recharging and turns solid (nonblinking) when the battery is fully charged. In the event of a low backup battery warning, charge the unit immediately before removing the main battery to avoid data loss. To view the amount of charge left in the backup battery, tap Start, Settings, the System tab, and Power.
Charging with the universal desktop cradle and AC adapter Use the universal desktop cradle to charge the HP iPAQ Pocket PC, or synchronize the HP iPAQ Pocket PC with a computer.
Follow these steps to charge the HP iPAQ Pocket PC using the universal desktop cradle:
  1. Plug the AC adapter into an electrical outlet and connect the other end of the AC adapter to the AC connector on the universal desktop cradle.

NOTE: The amber charge light blinks while the battery is recharging and turns solid (nonblinking) when the battery is fully charged. There are stabilizers located in the universal desktop cradle that assist in aligning the unit when there is no expansion pack attached. If the charge on the battery goes below the 3.2 Volts as a result of not being connected to the universal desktop cradle or the AC adapter, no damage will occur to the battery. However, the HP iPAQ Pocket PC charge indicator light will not flash until the battery reaches the minimum charge of 3.2 Volts and a normal reset is performed.
Follow these steps to charge and reset the HP iPAQ Pocket PC:
  1. Connect the HP iPAQ Pocket PC to an A/C power supply.
  2. Charge the battery to the minimum level of 3.2 Volts (this will take 5 to 30 minutes depending on the current charge level).
  3. Perform a normal reset by using the stylus to lightly press the Reset button on the bottom of the HP iPAQ Pocket PC.
  4. Turn on the HP iPAQ Pocket PC.
Keep the HP iPAQ Pocket PC connected to the universal desktop cradle or AC adapter when it is not in use.

Not Charging

Same thing happened to me the other day. For some unknown reason my wep500 seemed to just die with no apparent cause or reason. So I took the unit apart and tested the battery with a multi meter. It read 3.9V. So power was not the issue, I then put it back together and by chance, happened to continue pressing the power button for 5 seconds in hope I would see the LEDs flash but no dice. Then for no reason, I went to my phone and tried to pair and to my amazement it actually paired (meaning the device must of been on). So I then hit the big button on the wep500 and sure enough it calls the last number stored in my phone. It turns out (out of all things) the led itself went bad for some unknown reason. I suggest you try charging it (you won't see the red led), try turning it on (you won't see the blue led) and then try pairing from your phone. If you phone indicates it paired, then try calling the last number from your wep500. If it works, then you too have a bad LED (I have never seen an LED go bad before). Hope this helps.

Palm LifeDrive not charging

I had the exact same annoying problem. Easy fix though. Get the palm universal cradle. The power connector is either worn or loose and making partial contact. So when you use the normal adapter there might be a position that works but generally it won't. When you use the cradle the weight of the LD presses the contacts more and it will behave.

I went through a couple of chargers before getting the cradle and fixing it once and for all.

Perhaps the battery is not in correctly, the phone was dropped in water, The phone is broken, or you're pressing the wrong button.

Chargingb the phone

If it is a single pin charger that just plugs into the phone it sounds like the pin inside the phone has broken from the board which is why you have to wriggle it or wrap it up to get it to work.
this can be repaired but costs are determined by your repairer.
