Clicking noise from drive shaft

Take it back to the installer of the drive shaft and demonstate to them the problem.

The symptons you describe a indicate to me you have a faulty constant velocity drive joint or inadequate grease lubrication in the joint.

If the drive shaft proves to be the problem, it should be replaced with a new unit under warranty.

Saturn outlook 2008 front end grinding

Hi there Nannymel,

You didn't mention whether or not the grinding is constant, if it increases tempo when you accelerate?
Or if when you brake, the noise changes.

There are a few things this might be.
The most likely is a wheel bearing going out.
]The most serious would be indicative of a potential brake problem. And that is nothing you want to put off or have done by an amateur.

To be on the safe side, have your brakes looked at by a qualified mechanic / brake specialist.

As for the other possibilities:
A vehicle that does not go is inconvenient.
A vehicle that does not stop is dangerous.

Have the brakes checked first. Get back to me with the results, we can take it from there if necessary.

the cv joints likely do not affect the transmission. a cv is bad when you can hear it clicking while making a turn. when they begin to click it is time to replace them or else you will be stranded sooner than later. as for the grinding transmission, your options are to have tran rebuilt or replaced, or park on a hill. gears and metal are grinding and tearing themselves to pieces. if repair is not an option, then do not use reverse, after all, its not where we have been, but where we are going that counts.
