Question about Garden

1 Answer

Kubota Z18 zero turn mower won't start. Seems to involve the seat cut-off switch! Motor will start from the solenoid only. Have checked fuses and the seat weight adjustment setting but to no avail. Any suggestions appreciated.

Why will my zd21 kubota zero turn mower pto clutch not engage

First check fuse. Then with a volt meter check for voltage on the 2 wires going to the PTO clutch with the key and pto switches on but motor off ( you may need to trigger the seat switch as well). IF voltage is detected the clutch its self is suspect. If no voltage then check for power into the PTO switch and then out of. If power in but not out then the PTO switch is suspect. And keep chasing voltage down the line until you find the failure. Voltage travels from key switch thru fuse, PTO, seat, and reverse switches to the clutch

I have a DZ21 kubota zero turn mower that will not start with key

I would check for power at the starter solenoid. Use a test light and check for power at the start terminal of the solenoid. Also check for power at the switch terminals.

Electrical problem?

I had the same problem with my exmark. I found that there was a yellow wire that has a deans connector that plugs in around the backside area of the key ignition. that wire vibrated off. check that, it may fix it. good luck!..

Why does the engine of my Kubota ride on cut out when cutting

Sounds like you have a bad safety switch somewhere, possibly the seat switch.

All riding mowers have a seat safety, blade engage safety and a brake clutch safety, some mowers have a reverse mowing safety. Seat under the seat, blade and brake you will have to check the linkages underneath, and if there is a reverse mowing one I have seen them near the shifter handle right under the fender.

Poulan Riding Mower won't crank, battery OK.

Forget the safety switches for now.The first thing I would check would be the fuse. It will be located on the battery side of the solenoid. Follow your positive battery cable to the solenoid. There will be a small red wire coming off of that post with an inline fuse. If the fuse is good, check your solenoid. There are two wires plugged into spade terminals at the bottom of the solenoid. Unplug the one that is insulated, the other one is a ground. Hook a test light from that wire to ground. When you turn the key to start (with the brake pedal held down), it should light. If it lights, your solenoid is bad. If not, then you can start looking at switches. Probably will be one of the two. Hope this helps. Dwain

Hi please check all the wiring connections as you must have disconected the power soarce feeding the key switch to the starter.
Start around the engine then the battery, check the seat switch , brake/ clutch pedal , & the mower deck switches .
One wire is just disconnected or the connection is broken so check all connections by unconecting & reconnecting them as it may even be a corroded wire that has been disturbed when being cleaned.
