Sachs dolmar over oiling chain

I have a sachs dolmar about 15 years old. it uses about 2 tanks of oil to 1 tank of gas and if you hold it above a log and squeeze the trigger you can see oil flying everywhere. I just need to know how to adjust the automatic oiler.

I am not familiar with your specific saw. That said on most saws, under the clutch cover, below the clutch is an adjustment for the oil pump.

I should have inquired, are you using bar oil? That is really excessive if it is. Bar oil is thicker and stickier than most oils. I get mine at Ace Hardware.

The best way to adjust the oil flow is by thickening up the chain and bar oil with some 80 or 90 weight oil. this will take a bit of experimenting due to the temperature and other factors.

This old mcculloch chainsaw has 2 tanks 1 fuel and 1 oil. do iuse 2cycle oil?

You need to use a 25-1 fuel two stroke oil mix in the fuel tank, the oil tank is to lubricate the chain, here should use a non fling chain oil.

My saw is two weeks old it uses 3 tanks of bar&chain oil to 1 tank of gas is there a adjustment for setting?

Take the bar and chain off and clean both thourghly. Use a small blade screwdriver to scrape built up saw dust, dirt woodchips or whatever from bar track and make sure both are in good shape. The oil port should be located by bar alignment pin.Brush it clean and if you have access to compressed air then blow out to help clear port. Turn your saw upside down and locate screw that has directional arrow to + or - to add or subtract amount of oil flow.
I would start and run saw with bar and chain installed and properly tensioned. Let saw warm up then hold saw about one inch above clean piece of wood and run at full throttle for 30 seconds. There should be a light coating of oil on board. If you have too much oil then turn screw in direction on - until you get it set where you want it. There should be a light coating of oil on chain and bar at all times.
I mostly use stihl saws and run about 1 1/2 tanks of gas per tank of oil and this works great for me. Hope this helps you. Thanks.

Is it gas&oil or just gas

Gas & oil my friend, it's a two-stroke motor. You mix the fuel at 22:1 ratio. The bottles come so one bottle goes in a gallon of gas. Hope this helps.

"Echo Power Blend Universal 2-Stroke Oil can be used in all of our 2-cycle air-cooled equipment ever made. You may also use this oil in any other brand of 2-cycle air cooled equipment, but it should always be mixed at the 50:1 ratio whether or not it was a 32:1 or 16:1 etc. machine. This oil is the highest quality 2-cycle oil on the market today. There is no need to have more than 1 tank of fuel for your 2-cycle equipment any more."

Bar oil leaking constantly. How do I fix it?

These saws are of the self oiling type there is no tip or bottle it consists of a tank and a channel the oil flows thru and on to the bar by gravity. There is a type of bar oil system on some saws that come with a button you push which In turn pumps oil onto the bar. But the poulan is not one of them. I have a 15 year old farm hand 20" bar and a two year old poulan wild thing 18" and both leave there oil in the case when sitting I beleive the fix would be drain it after use and clean up.
