Disconnect Power. Lift Cover on lint filter. Remove two Phillips screws taking care NOT to allow them to fall into the blower housing. Next, place a putty knife in the space between the upper and lower panel at the front of the dryer about 4 inches in from either side to push up the retaining clips while pulling on the panel. This will release the lower panel and give you full access to all the main components.

At bottom of upper front panel remove hinge springs and screw at left and right edges. Looking down inside dryer on left and right see a 5/16” hex head screw about 6 inches down. Remove screw on each side while holding front panel in place. Pull upper front panel toward you and off rotating it out of the way being careful not to stretch or break wiring to switch for door.

Reverse the above process to reassemble unit. Good Luck.

Remove the top panel to access the outside of the drum where the baffle securing screws are found. Remove the three hex-head screws from the rear flange of the dryer's top cover the lift the rear of the cover and slide it back so the tabs clear the catches on the bracket and remove the cover from the unit.

Turn the drum until the baffle screws are on top then remove the screws and the baffles. Install the new baffles then the top cover. Make sure that the tabs slide under the bracket catches when you reinstall the top cover. The top cover screws have nylon flat washers on them. Be sure to use these screws when you reinstall the top cover.

How to tighten dryer baffle on HE5 electric dryer?

The dryer baffle mounting screws are located around the outside perimeter of the drum. You will need to remove the top panel of the dryer to access them. The panel comes off by locating and removing the three screws that hold the panel in place in the rear of the dryer. With the screws removed, the panel will slide back, then lift off. CAUTION: Make sure you UNPLUG the dryer prior to servicing. You should be able to manually rotate the drum to get to all the bolts you need to tighten.

If you have any questions, please post back with your MODEL NUMBER and let me know. I hope this helps you.

Inside the drum, one of the metal things is loose. It appears that it is held on with screws, so they are probably loose. Could you tell me teh easiest way to access the outside of the drum so I can...

The top cover needs to be lifted to the rear of the dryer to access the outside of the drum and tighten the baffle screws. But before the top cove can be lifted, the front panel must be removed first. Disconnect power to the dryer prior to servicing to avoid the risk of electric shock.

Open the dryer door and remove the four screws located vertically along the inside lip of the door opening. These screws hold the front panel to the front shroud assembly.

Once the four screws are removed, grasp and press in on the upper edges of the front panel posts then twist it inward to release the clips holding it to the cabinet. Tilt the top of the front panel and move it away from the dryer.

The top cover is held on each side of the cabinet by two hold down brackets. Locate and remove the 5/16" hex-head screws holding each bracket then swing the bracket to the outside and unhook it from the slot in the top panel lip.

Open the door then lift the front of the top panel and tilt it toward the rear of the dryer.

Rotate the drum until the baffle screws are on top to tighten it. Reinstall the top panel and the front panel by following the removal steps in reverse order.

1 of 3 fins on inside is loose & hanging by 1 screw.

Access to the bottom of the baffles for tightening the screws requires the lifting of the top cover which also requires the removal of the front panel. Disconnect power to the dryer prior to servicing to avoid the risk of electric shock.

The top panel can be lifted only after the front panel is removed. Open the door and remove the four screws located vertically along the inside lip of the door opening. These screws hold the front panel to the front shroud assembly.

Once the four screws are removed, grasp and press in on the upper edges of the front panel posts then twist it inward to release the clips holding it to the cabinet. Tilt the top of the front panel and move it away from the dryer.

The top panel is held on each side of the cabinet by two hold down brackets. Locate and remove the 5/16" hex-head screws holding each bracket then swing the bracket to the outside and unhook it from the slot in the top panel lip.

Open the door then lift the front of the top panel and tilt it toward the rear of the dryer.

Rotate the drum until the baffle screws are positioned on the top for tightening.

Reinstall the top panel and the front panel by following the removal steps in reverse order.

Mixer head loose

Referring to the diagram on:

http://shared.whirlpoolcorp.com/assets/pdfs/literature/Repair%20Part%20List%20-%20W10157992.pdf

Remove the screw, item 22, to remove the trim band around the mixer. This will reveal 4 screws which hold the top cover on. Remove the screws and lift the top off. Find all the screws which hold the gearhead in place and tighten them all. If you want to make the fix a permanent one put some thread-loc compound on each screw and tighten it.

KitchenAid 2671 Mixer always wiggling

I have had the same problem to remove the motor you need to remove the two screws at the back of the motor next the two screws holding on the circuit board (so you can get at the screws around the gearbox ) next remove the cover on the gearbox by removing the four screws and lift off after you have done this you can lift the motor out but remember you still have the wires connected but you can get at the screws to tighten the head down try using lock-tight on the screws

Fix Loose Baffles

The two screws that hold the door door hinges and the two on the opposite side of the door opening hold the front panel in place. Once you remove the door and the other two screws the front panel should swing down to access the screws that hold down the top. But you may be able to reach the baffle screws once the front cover is removed.
