I have a 2000 Dometic Roof Air conditioner model # 59516.603 Can you give me the eletrical specs as I want to purchase a generator that will power it when dry camping. Honda has 2000 watt genset that puts out 30 amp power at about 16 amps. Is that sufficient? Thanks Pat

- Thankyou for your quick response. My RV is stored many miles away, so it will be difficult to look-up that info on the nameplate. I did look for the nameplate the last time I was there but couldn't find it. Is it located on the roof or can I get at it from inside the RV? I was hoping that you could pull up the specs and tell me what amperage that model of air conditioner draws according to the factory specs. Cedar Creek RV did not give me any paperwork with the purchase of the RV. Thanks, PatClarification Request

30 amp power at 16 amps? Is this correct? If the generator produces 2000 watts compare that to the nameplate data on the A/C -- multiply the rated volts times the rated amps -- if that's 1800 watts or less, I'd say, yes the generator is sufficient.

Pat,
12.3 amps @115 volts says the spec -- this is 1400+ watts. A 2000 watt generator should handle it nicely.

i have a duotherm penguin 13,500 btu ac. when i turn it on, the compressor kicks on but the fan doesn't. 1 thing is when i turn it on instead of kicking up from 6 amps on the rv, it kicks up the amerage to around 30. not sure what the problem may be. could it be the fan or the controller? it's a non ducted unit.
