Question about ASUS A8V-MX Motherboard

1 Answer

Compatibility I'm upgrading my system and can't find anything about processor compatilbilty. I currently am running a single core and want to upgrade to a duel core. I'm buying the Antec Nine Hundred caseing with a Rosewill Stallion Series RD500-2DB ATX V2.2 500W Power Supply. Before I buy these, I was gona try and see about getting a duel core processor at the same time. The offered duel core is a Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 Conroe 2.66Hz LGA 775 Duel-Core Processor Model BX80557E6750. I'm not sure what this MB is compatible with. Any info is extremely greatful.

Re: Compatibility

A8V-MXs are built for AMD processors. You will need a board made for Intel processors if you want to purchase the above processor. If you want to stick with Intel and Asus check out the P5 series of boards. If not, buy an AMD chip...I've had AMD in almost every one of my computers, laptops and desktops.

Good luck.

Intel Core 2 Quad 8200 with a 945GCT-M3? Will it work?

Hello here is the homepage:

Here you can see the supported cpu list.

The quad core cpu will not run on this mainboard.

Here is info about the quad cpu:

But you can add a Intel Core 2 Extreme LGA775
This should give a noteable difference compares to the old single core cpu.

Remember also to buy a bigger cpu cooling element.

Here is no upgrade for the bios.

Good luck

I just purchased a new Acer Aspire AS7741G-6426 Laptop. I want to upgrade from 4GB memory to 8GB memory. I need to know what brand and specs to look for.

Just refer to your laptop manual. If your manual got lost go to the  acer website and find your product and download the manual. .

when upgrading your memory you have to consider the following:

the processor: if your processor has 4gb compatibility mem you can upgrade upto 6 to 8gb.

take note that you must not exceed to 8gb or else your processor might be damage.

get the processor speed: example core 2 i3 processor, 1.0GHZ-the frequency.

the Memory or RAM(random access memory): get ther specification: example is DDR1 or DDR3

PC133 or PC 400. Thats all.

Note: your current memory must have the same memory module(example PC400,PC 133)  or else it wont work.if your going to upgrade your current 4gb PC400 you have to add 4gb memory in PC400 module also.

I want to upgrade my current processor (Pentium 4 531 3.0Ghz Prescott with Hyper-Threading) from my ASRock ConRoe865GV motherboard to Core 2 Duo E4xxx series or Pentium dual core E2xxx series. But I want...

hello velayojoel

my name is ausi.

if the asrock web site says 2gig is the max then that is it. the only other thing to check on their web site is the bios version. see what version is your bios and if a bios upgrade can help. otherwise the only thing to do is to replace the board if you want higher processor speed.

hope this has helped somehow.
good luck

I don't have a problem. I just need to know what kind of motherboard my PC has. its a HP Pavilion dv7.1135nr . thank you

I am guessing you are asking because you want to upgrade it?

If not, download this free program, and it will tell you all the info you want to know about your computer: CPU-Z here:

Okay, well you have an AMD based DV7,
The 780G chipset is among the latest from AMD. That chipset supports the Turion ultra processors.
Your system may be running slow because your cpu is running at 500MHz instead of 2Ghz.
You can upgrade your processor to any RM/ZM/QL turion processor.

The processor in your system is socket S1
Your current cpu is a RM-70, 2.0Ghz dual core, 1mb L2, and 31 watt TDP
The RM-74 would be an upgrade to 2.2Ghz dual core, 1mb L2, and 35 watt TDP
However your best upgrade at the moment is the ZM-86,
The ZM-86 is 2.4Ghz Dual core, 2mb L2, and 35 watt TDP

The ZM processors are going for around $200 on ebay
I do not think the 400MHz upgrade is going to be worth $200.

Like to upgrade I have DG 965 RY LGA 775 Socket

Hi, your motherboard supports several different kinds of processors. You have a choice of two for the fastest performance. You could go with an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor #E6700 that runs at 2.66 Ghz with a front side bus of 1066 Mhz and 4 Mb L2 cache, or you could go with an Intel Single Core Processor #670 that runs at 3.80 Ghz with an 800 Mhz front side bus and 2Mb L2 cache. The Core 2 would outperform the Single Core, but it is more expensive. Hope this helps! Hal

Pc Chips P23G wont reconize my new p4 core 2 duo

The PC Chips P23G versions 1.0A & 3.0 will not support any current generation Core2Duo, Core2Quad or Pentium Dual-Core processors. Only some of the first generation (Conroe Core) Core2Duo processors which run @ 1066mhz bus and some Pentium D (presler core) processors which run @ 800mhz bus.are supported. Not even most current BIOS will add support for any current processors. Check the pcchips website for CPU compatibility for the P23G..

Upgrade from single core processor to duo core

You cannot upgrade to a dual core processor using this motherboard as this motherboard is a socket 478 (older version) instead of LGA775. If you want to upgrade to a dual core processor, you will have to get a new Mobo as well.
