i lost my video connection, checked all hardware & drives, including ram, everythings in good working order. computer comes on 2 an orange light, which means video fault, tried a pci express, pci & onboard, still no video..but after reading all the problems with this mobo combo,i think its the bios needing updated/flashed, or the mobo needs destroyed...

It sounds like your hardware is not compatable with the update. if you can restart the computer and press f12 to boot to safe mode you should be able to open the device manager from Run: by typing devmgmt.msc, find the video adapter under 'display adapters', double click your adapter to bring up the properties window, click the 'driver' tab and click roll back driver
hope this helps. please rate me and thanks for choosing enterprise computing solutions...

Gateway computer Where is my video card located & how do I remove it? I have a gateway GT5220

the graphics on this specific machine are integrated onto the motherboard, it's not removable, so you'll have to live with it unless you get a more powerful addon graphcs card and put that into the orange slot on the motherboard (the specific slot type is PCI-e 1st generation (GEN1) 8x) and upgrade the graphics to a more powerful nVidia or ATI(AMD) one!

Pb not seeing my new video card

The 9600 video card, I am fairly sure, has a connection on the card itself for power. Have you maybe fogotten to connect the power supply to the video card? If not , try reseating the video card.  A third possibality.. Some MB, if they have on board video, require you to turn off the "on board video" in order for it to use (see) the New PCI video card. Hope this helps.

Constantly reboots itself

The Gateway GT5220 has an AMD Athlon 64 processor. It has been documented that Windows XP SP3 doesn't play well with some AMD CPUs. I'm pretty sure this is one of them. I would suggest attempting a system recovery using a restore point on a date BEFORE you installed SP3. If that doesn't work, you might consider recovery using the original Gateway Restore CD. It will likely wipe the system, but that might be the only choice.

I would NOT start with the total reload option. We have a couple others before you get there, so try the restore point and then let me know the results. We'll go from there...

Want to disable power management flashing blue light on GT5220 PC

I don't think that's practically possible until you have to do it through the hardware inside..
However you may do some manipulation to the power plan of the computer system..
