It would be cheaper and easier to replace the entire palm rest which has the touchpad and mouse buttons already in it. They can be found on Ebay, just to a search of "DV4000" in computers. Below is the service manual which has disassembly instructions....

Left mouse key sticks

Please clean your mouse - the button might be obstructed by food, or whatever:) If you need to, you can unsnap the mouse key with a small electronic screwdriver (without braking any buttons) and then push the button back into place after you have wiped the mouse clean, or, if there is no obstruction, you might have a damaged mouse that needs replacing. Be careful to ask the computer salespeople for a non-Ethernet "Logitech(C)-emulation) mouse if you have a Windows PC computer from before 2000-2005. If you have a Mac, you might have to call warranty, or, replace existing mouse if cleaning doesn't solve the problem. But, there might be room for a DYI of you can make time for the mouse to be checked under appropriate lighting and in a clean room environment. More about that at another post.

GE wirless Keyboard & mouse 98552: Worked great, changed mouse batteries, now it won't reconnect. Press the connect button on bottom of mouse... no luck?

You also need to click on the receiver button. After the receiver button is clicked then you would need to click the mouse button located under the mouse. If all of this was done try replacing the batteries again with a new set of batteries. I've seen new batteries not work before that has died while sitting in it's package.

My mouse has quit working. Does it have a battery to replace or something? Do i need to replace the mouse?

If your mouse was working and suddenly stopped, the first thing to do is replace the battery (or batteries). Then push the button on the bottom that is labeled "connect."
That should do it.
Oh, yes--there could be a connect button on the mouse antenna unit, too--the one that plugs into the comptuer.

My VX revolution is missing too much left clicks. Sometimes I need to click 5 times to get 1 click. All the others buttons are working fine. How I can fix this? thks

Seems that the left mouse button needs to be replaced. If you have an old mouse, you can use it as a source of a spare mouse button, & replace the defective button on your VX Revolution.
However, you need to make sure that:
1. The replacement button is identical to the defective one.
2. You have enough skills to solder/desolder electronic components.

Replaced batteries in mouse. Now won't work.

There should be a small button that you can poke the end of a pen with and it should sink- there would be one on the USB receiver and on the mouse. Plus in the USB and hit that button first and then hit the mouse button. On the mouse it will be located on the underside close to where the red optical lens is

You need to check the mouse settings.
If the mouse settings are ok. Then you need to replace the mouse.

Left button of G5 laser mouse wont work

If you are talking about the left mouse button not on the sides, your mouse may have some buildup in the mouse on the sensor that says it was being touched. if you remove the screws and blow it out with a can of air, it may resolve the issue if not i would check the warranty and see about getting it replaced if there is no warranty. If you are talking about the mouse buttons on the left side of the mouse, you need to install the software from the following site. http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/441/135&cl=us,en
I would follow the instructions and update the firmware and then install the setpoint software as well. If it still doesn't the mouse will need to be replaced.
