Quite possible that the copyright was over ridden and the laser isn't reading the correct format. most dvd's are written in AVI or MPEG or MOV format. a copyright off the main disk has a protection line in it when the dvd is re-recorded that locks out the disk's contents. a regular recorded dvd plays.

DVDs that refuse to play on standard players from Toshiba, LG, Pioneer,
Sony, and others. The culprit is titles that utilize Sony's ARccOS
copy protection scheme, such as Disney's "Pirates of the Caribbean:
Dead Man's Chest," The Weinstein Company's "Lucky Number Slevin," and
Sony's "Casino Royale," "The Holiday," and "Stranger Than Fiction."
ARccOS artificially scrambles sectors on the disc in an attempt to keep
users from ripping the disc to a drive. Many older (or less
sophisticated) players simply skip these corrupted areas as unreadable
and continue on. Computers -- and unfortunately, some newer players --
try to perform error correction on these areas and fail playback.
The DVD industry hasn't standardized playback formats. What's readable on a computer may work on SONY dvd players but not all.

How do i hook up a rca Rtd325w dvd home theater to a coby tft lcd flatscreen

You can use either the multi pin connector cable, or plug the white, yellow and red cables to the TV set at the DVD player input or "Video 1" and the the audio output of the TV Another red and white set of RCA cables into the audio input of the home theater. This way the TV can play through the home theater system when you are watching cable or over the air.

If you do not want to hear the TV audio, you should go to the audio properties and select "external speaker system" but if you do this the home theater system must be on to hear any audio from the set until you set it back to the TV speakers through the TV's setup menus again.

I have the rca dvd 5 dics theatre system (rtd,217a) the problem is the the 1,2,3 changer don't play. I just bought it from the store and they want to exchange it do to the fact I open it

Your problem with the store is unclear. If you just purchased it, take it back. And I urge you to dig into your pockets for something a little better, as this system is not known to be reliable or exactly high-quality.

Have you examined the DVD's to see if they are abused and/or damaged by those who rented them? If there is no damage (unlikely for rental DVD's) what does the 'problem' look like?

First of all,if you are using rental dvds, there might be scratch which your dvd player might have an issue to read it;however,if you have tried many dvds in this player and you are having this issue, it is time to move on to another dvd player.
I recommend a Pioneer dvd player.
