The reason why it overheats is because you're using a AMD processor which tend to heat up much faster then Intel processors
I recommend you to downclock the processor speed .2 Ghz and buy a notebook cooling pad.
They cost anywhere from $10-$60 and stop your laptop from overheating.
Also it's not good to have your laptop on too long (5 or 6 hrs. is max).
To clean the fan your best bet is to use an compressed can of air. Some people like to use a vacuum, but it can give you problems with static electricity. If you are going to open up the case, be sure to look into safety measures, like wearing a safety bracelet. Even when unplugged, computers can be dangerous. The heatsink is located on top of the processor inside the computer
