If you connected the headphones to your audio out jack on your system, and no audio, then the issue is with the computer, not the Monitor's speakers. It is possible to mute the speakers with a hot key combination, so I'd be throughly checking the audio and volume control settings

Sound comes through only one speaker at a time.

Is the sound on both channels on a pair of headphones? If it is suspect a faulty headphone socket, especially if the speakers are cut out when the headphone jack is inserted - normally.

Headphone Repair

The cable that is used in the headphones is actually very low quality and very weak so easily broken, You may be able to remove the wiring from another pair of headphones and use it.
Unfortunately Skullcandy are not a high end brand so no spare parts are really available as they are made in china as you can see on the following link.

Somthing is wrong with my skullcandy cord and i can only hear out of one headphone

When headphones get old or are used often, they tend to break. If you wanted to fix it, here's a video on how:

Still, it would be cheaper and easier to buy a new pair. A high quality, long lasting and moderately priced pair of headphones are these:

They are made in a way that makes them long lasting. Also, their bass and treble (for the price) are unmatched. I've had mine for over a year and they sound as good as day one. They start at 20 bucks.
Hope this helped!

I have had the bose in-ear headphones for a year and they were great at first and then all of a sudden the left earpiece stops working. If I move the part that connects the headphones to the ipod then it...

If your headphones are in warranty (under a year old) Bose will repair or more likely replace them with a new pair. I am now on my forth pair or Bose in-ear headphones and experienced the same problem with an ear piece stop working. I have to say Bose customer service has been fantastic and has replaced each pair. Every new pair is then covered by a new full years warranty. Unfortunately my fourth pair has just gone wrong with the same connector problem. Bose again have said they will replace as they are in warranty. I have been told if they are out of warranty they will offer a new pair at a discount price of £50 instead of £80. However i think that if my new pair go wrong out of warranty i will have no option but to look at alternatives.A Pair of headphones that cost £80 should last more than a year!!!

Acer Aspire 1406 no sound issue

So sometimes laptops play up when the headphone socket gets a bit worn. If you wiggle a headphone jack in the socket (put it in at different angles, and rub around) sometimes the sound will come back.

There are two prongs that "detect" the headphones, and cut the speakers... and if they don't "un-contact" when the headphones are removed, the speakers stay off.

You'd need someone to solder a new headphone socket on the mainboard to properly fix it, but if you wiggle and get the speakers back, they should stay back until you use the headphone socket again.

Sounds definitely like your jack has a short and needs to be repaired or the BB replace entirely.

Marantz SR7500 headphone jack stopped working

There is a contact inside the jack that is closed when the plug is inserted. Apparently this is no longer happening. This should be an easy repair for a qualified technician.

Envision EN7410e monitor

Just fixed mine. Maybe it's a few years late. Hope you guys still have the display. It's the power supply board. I've just replaced 4 bulge capacitors near one edge of the PS. They are 2x1000uF 10V, 1x470uF 25V & 1x470 10V. I salvaged my parts from an old CRT monitor. Hey you can go green with your repairs too!
